Jason’s face travels the spectrum of reactions before it settles on mild curiousity. He’s heard a lot about Wade from other people, but never had the pleasure of meeting him. His head tilts to the side as he tries to figure out which Robin’s ass he’s going to kick for this before he speaks.

i just want jason to know that alfred is glaring at him for the 'i'll heal in hell' post. full on 'judgemental butler' energy. big 'the fuck you will' energy as he shuffles him off to a therapist.

He sniffed sharply, reaching up to rub at his nose as his eyes kept running, shivering just slightly. He moved a little closer, burrowing his face against her shoulder, nooking himself to her. He'd thought he'd done a good job, hiding away the nightmares, the panic attacks.

"I'm so sorry." he mumbled. "I didn't - I didn't want to wake you up." he half-laughed, weakly, but he felt better with his head tucked against her. Aunt May always made him feel better, even now, with being a superhero - part of him believed he was safer if May was there.

     It takes her a full minute to realize she’s chewing on her nail, so close it may start bleeding. Her hand immediately drops to her side, arms wrapping around her waist. She knows Duke means well, in fact she’s glad he’s checking on her. Cass just doesn’t feel like talking yet.

    “I know. It’s just not how I’m wired,” she said quietly. Really it wasn’t how any of them were wired. None of them knew how to open up or to be vulnerable. But it was easier to be soft around each other. “Thank you though Duke. I appreciate it.”

     he blinked slowly, frown creasing his brows for a moment. “i think,” he muttered, arms folding across his chest. “i just have a habit of thinking and completely disregarding said thoughts.” granted, that was probably alfred’s point, but jason was willing to ignore that.

    He’s been around any number of dangerous and violent criminals, yet there is still something about Zsasz that still made his skin crawl. He managed to suppress the shudder that ran through him, gaze lifting to meet Zsasz’s. 

“It’s not...you don’t have to kill for me Victor.”  His voice is calm and steady, though it does unsettle him a little just how willing Zsasz is to kill for him. “Though...thank you. I suppose.”
