I realized I actually have not posted profiles for Safe Harbor cures on tumblr at all, time to fix that!
Safe Harbor takes place in my RJO universe in 2031. Ten years before the story, the world was devastated by a glacier tsunami, and most survivors now live on city ships. These five live on the largest ship, and are all starting high school at Infinitas Academica, when a talking otter lands in their arms and tells them to transform into Precure and save her kingdom...
Carla Fierro is the middle kid of three, and is looking for a purpose in life since both her siblings already have jobs. Enthusiastic about becoming a magical girl, she doesn’t take long to embrace her new storm-powers as Cure Ring.
Manami Yukimura is the exact opposite of Carla. She’s wanted to study in Infinitas ever since she learned about it, and is finally in, thanks to a high school transfer program. She’s here to learn, not to play a hero. Nevertheless, enemy comes knocking, and she has to accept her role and fire powers as Cure Spinner.
Tahira Malik is also a transfer, and actually shares an apartment with Manami - probably a good thing as Tahira is the far better cook of the two. Tahira is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, being good at academics and sports, and having an interest in all kinds of books. All this knowledge comes in handy when thinking about the most effective way to utilize earth attacks as Cure Caretta.
Alice Blanchett is more into watching sports than taking part in them, but there are exceptions like ice hockey, and she won’t hesitate to beat bad guys up with light powers as Cure Polar. Her family owns a popular cafe where Alice and her brother help out in their free time.
Zola Wright was touched more by the tsunami than the rest of the cures, getting injured when the wave hit her city. Her prosthetic leg requires constant maintenance thanks to Zola’s active involvement in multiple sports, so she knows the mechanics of the city very well. Just how much stress on the prosthetic in placed by transforming into ice-powered Cure Emperor remains to be seen.
Other important characters:
Sara: Princess of Marine Kingdom of Land of Elements, she was sent to Earth to find Precures when her mother was attacked.
Kestrel Prongs: Alice’s best friend and the team’s secret keeper.
Savitri Prongs: Kestrel’s fraternal twin.
I neved did share any pictures of Safe Harbor cures, did I? Well, here's the almost-final designs. Ended up tweaking small things (like Emperor's pants or Caretta and Spinner's jackets), but after I'd done those, this turned into a color test for the uniforms. Might get the final ref sheets done sometime...
Pink: Carla Fierro / Cure Ring
Blue: Manami Yukimura / Cure Spinner
Green: Tahira Malik / Cure Caretta
Yellow: Alice Blanchett / Cure Polar
Purple: Nuru Wright / Cure Emperor
Manami does not like cosplay, but Tahira loves sewing and Nuru likes taking photos. Just the average roommate life for these three.
What do i do if a part of the plot of a book I m writing has already been used in a published book that I discovered today?
WRITE IT ANYWAY. Chances are you will have a totally different spin on the idea and your story will be unique in it's own way. You'll also have a chance to change it up and make it your own in the writing process. There are plenty of ideas that sound like each other when you boil them down to the basics. Fuck the notion of 'taken ideas.' That just doesn't exist in fiction writing.
Zula doesn’t give a bleep and I can’t draw. Needed some visual ref for her scars and ended up doing this
The Cures' names are in captions in case my handwriting is illegible. (I hope that's a word)
So this is the whole Noble♥Hearts Precure team. They are in the order of appearance except for Sorbet and Meringue, who should be the other way around.
And I know the curepouches (you know the things hanging from all cures' belts that have the transformation item) are white rn. I couldn't come up with a color for them, will do later. Also I did forget to draw them on Cookie (where I called it a curebox) and Macaron. ALSO I forgot to draw Cookie's choker. And I forgot to draw almost everyone's choker symbol. (Macaron is the only one to have it since I skanned her last.)
And all the cures have at least these in therir outfit: a vest, a skirt, shoes and a waist-cape. Most of them also have a short shouldercape (Creme being the only exception since she has a headscarf), socks (minus Bundt and Cookie), short sleeves (Bundt has no sleeves, Creme has long ones) and gloves (again Creme, who has the long sleeves)
Also yes that's an automail Bundt has. And yes, Sorbet has cat ears and a tail. Tells something about my universe.
