Do you have any favorite seiyuu right now Charles? what performance(s) from a recent anime impressed you the most?

Ooooh, I would say that it's gotta be Aoi Yuki. She has such distinct voicing and makes character so memorable. She doesn't just embody them; they lifts them right off the page and makes them superior. I've been enjoying her Maomao so much, along with every other anime fan haha.

Another Aoi—Aoi Koga—was so so good in 16bit Sensation recently. I knew her previous work but I felt like she really shone in that role.

It's all about the Aoi's!

I’ve experienced a few crazy things but really, it’s the childhood trauma—fights, breaks in the family, etc.—that stuck with me and influenced who I became.

32. Have you ever cheated on someone?

I hold myself to the Jesus definition of cheating, and by that standard, yes, yes I have. And to be completely honest, I’m super grateful to God because I think he’s kept me from doing even worse. I know my heart and it’s prone to all sorts of wrongdoing.

Charles, do you have any insight on the state of Christianity in South Korea?

That’s a good question, Greg! I don’t have a good answer for it, though, haha. I have a good friend who’s a pastor there and see and hear things, but am really just witnessing it all through my experience interacting with Koreans here.

I definitely know more about Korean-American Christians. But even with that group, I’m continuing to learn a lot. I’m receiving an education beyond all my years of growing up in and later serving in a Korean church by reading resources online and seeing what folks are tweeting and posting out. The church is changing rapidly, and that goes for our subsection as well.

Charles, what Korean honorifics (like hyung, oppa) do you prefer to be called? I'm thinking of studying Korean. 😅

Ooooh, have fun with it! I'm terrible with languages, but Korean isn't as difficult as one might think. I wish you luck with it!

If I was still younger, I would absolutely love being called hyung or oppa, but didn't have many close relationships with the Koreans around me. Some people called me that later, though, and still do now. Unfortunately, I'm starting to move into ahjussi territory. -_-'

I’m pretty bad with fast foods. They’re definitely my stress relief. I’m far better than I used to be...but I’d like to jettison that habit entirely.

Charles, did you like "Cardcaptors" when you were younger? Was that dub your first exposure to CCS or were you aware of the original Japanese version before you saw it?

Oh yeah, Greg, I loved Cardcaptors! It wasn’t until I looked into purchasing the CCS movies that I realized the two were quite different. I’ve now watched as much of Cardcaptor Sakura or more than I had of Cardcaptors, but while I recognize the earlier as the better product, I still have much more heart for the latter.
