Appearance Dove is naturally blonde but for the past few years has maintained bright purple hair. She wears it shoulder length with long front bangs which she often pushes behind her ears when she is trying to focus or gets flustered. Her eyes are a dark chocolate brown, and she wears black framed glasses. She has a mole under her bottom lip which her mother called her ‘special freckle’ when she was a child. Dove is fairly petite in height, but is also curvy in the hips and bust. She favours comfortable clothing and can often be found in either long dresses with fitted waists or dark jeans with chunky oversized sweaters.
Personality Dove is outwardly a quiet person, but to those who know her best, she is very talkative and funny. Known for having a sarcastic bite when engaging in friendly banter, her friends and loved ones have learned not to underestimate her. She enjoys a variety of hobbies including needlework and creative writing, for which her husband encourages and motivates her immensely. Dove once dreamt of becoming an author, but life sidetracked those lofty ambitions. To this day, she continues to dabble in her passion for her own enjoyment and for her biggest fan, her husband.
Her quiet, gentle nature makes her a great listener and a natural when it comes to relating to others. She is good with both animals and children, especially toddlers who seem to be drawn to her.
Dove is quietly competitive and isn’t known for losing gracefully. This is often a source of teasing at home, although she usually gets her revenge in due course. She may be a civilian but that does not mean anyone should underestimate her resolve and determination, Dove will defend her family with her life if the need arises.
Background Born into a shinobi family (her father and three uncles on her mother’s side all actively served), she understood what it meant to be selfless from a young age. Although Dove never displayed an aptitude for shinobi life, her parents were always supportive. They instilled the value of following your heart into Dove from a very young age, and they always wanted her to follow her heart regardless of what direction that might take.
Whilst Academy life was never on the cards, Dove studied hard to become a contributing member of society by working within Hokage Tower. From humble beginnings as an office junior making tea and coffee for the staff and delivering scrolls to and from various departments to department head and reporting directly to the Hokage.
During the Third Shinobi War, Dove volunteered at the Academy to allow the jonin there to assist in the war efforts. This allowed her time to focus on learning how to perceive the aura of chakra and sense it from a few miles away if really concentrating. She developed a close bond with the younger children and attended their graduation when they made genin.
Relationships Dove is married to Kakahi Hatake after a few years of dating. They met following a series of serendipitous events which should be read to be believed (this is definitely not a plug to my long fic The Fear of Acceptance... ahem). They have a three-year-old son named Sakumo and live on the outskirts of Konoha in Kakashi’s family home. Being the wife of the Hokage is not for the faint hearted and especially given Kakashi’s beloved status within Konoha and the Land of Fire, but Dove does her best to not overthink every little criticism that comes their way.
They share a passion for reading, and especially material of the spicy nature. Kakashi took great delight in discovering Dove likes to write and is pretty decent when it comes to writing what most would call smut. He is often the inspiration for her best and most passionate scenarios, having used their own sexual experiences as a muse or if it’s something new then acting them out at a later date. Kakashi is Dove’s biggest and most enthusiastic fan, and since she left her job to raise their son, has encouraged her to put more time into her writing.
Dove has a friendship akin to a sibling bond with Iruka Umino after working alongside him at the Academy during the War. They are extremely close and Sakumo calls him Uncle Iruka given his closeness to both Dove and Kakashi. He is a regular dinner guest at the Hatake house and is the first to offer to babysit whenever he can.
Despite his attempts over the years to isolate himself, Kakashi has a large circle of friends, all of whom Dove takes to immediately, considering them as family. She adores the former members of Team 7 and bonds with Sakura when she goes looking for guidance in the relationship department. Dove is not short of friends; however, no one will ever come close to her very best friend and partner, Kakashi.
