I love her smile so much. It made me so emotional seeing her admiring her coach so much and I wish we had gotten to see better how she reacted to the revelation of him being and asshole and getting over him

no matter how much i hate dove porter, seeing him tell greta “good job, kid” and giving her that parental-esque approval that greta didn’t/doesn’t have in her life was really sweet

The fact that it was Dove's forkball that blew out his arm says so much about him. His arm blew out 3 years into the game when he became famous for his forkball. He let the spectacle overshadow the game. Carson even says his other throws were better, but he isn't known for them. Even in the scene where he teaches Lupe, Shaw hits the ball really easily. It's a purely stunt throw.

The fact that he teaches Lupe the forkball right away and sees her arm start to hurt and still pushes it shows that he was instantly unconcerned about the team. If she throws forkballs, then there's a story about his legacy. He doesn't care about her arm. It isn't until she goes back other throws that her arm heals.
