Hammond Farmhouse Dover, Ohio by Thomas Bitticker on Flickr.
Via Flickr:
The razing of the farmhouse located just east of the intersection of North Crater Avenue and East 15th Street in Dover occurred during this past week. This property was previously owned by the late Joe Hammond and appears in the 1908 Tuscarawas County Atlas as belonging to Simon Winkler. There were probably several other owners of this property in between Hammond and Winkler. In addition, the same farm also appears on 1875 Dover Township plat map as belonging to Nicholas Winkler (see attached image). Also note that North Crater Avenue extension (Deis Hill Road) was not in existence in 1875, nor does it appear on the Dover Township plat map that was published in the 1908 Tuscarawas County Atlas.
