Down Comes the Rain
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Trying to set up a master link for Down Comes the Rain.
Brief summary - it's going to at times dark, at times hopeful, and at other times utterly tragic. It is the story of Mandalore uniting in the face of a mad race against time for the ultimate prize - the safety of children.
But some people don't want to be saved.
I’m not dead! Huzzah!
To keep myself going stir crazy without any creative outlet during my renovations, I’ve been madly sketching little scenes and character notes on printer paper at work and at home. So enjoy these first few.
The first is Jango and his Grunts - as it stands, I know the Mandalorians in canon were presented as mostly male and human. But I can dream!!! (Lol, guess which one’s Jango? Definitely not the only one I’ve given defined shape to… noooo…) Only Silas is present in this line up of Grunts, as Myles was called in to help run disaster management with Jaster, and is stuck being the more responsible party. The rest are all original, with even a non-combatant but highly competent new Mandalorian expat along for the ride. Even still, they aren’t exactly a harmless looking gathering, and definitely scared the living daylights out of the Eterrans they meet.
The second image is me having fun with characters in movement and how different they each respond to hostile situations. Jango is still young and brash in Down Comes the Rain, and so he faces things head on, but with incredible adaptability and resolve which will serve him well when he learns to look before he leaps. Silas isn’t too sure of his combat readiness, and so relies on quick attacks, jumping in and out of chaos, and keeping himself out of other people’s way by relying on range more primarily than he possibly should. Myles - the most well rounded and battle hardened of this trio of young Mando rookies - is more hands on and direct, but let likely to enter a fight in the first place.
I’m cross posting my fics onto Wattpad as a spell and grammar check! I find Ao3 let’s you get away with a lot of bad behaviour, while Wattpad will literally highlight the whole paragraph and tell you it’s wrong. Ugggh. Not having fun. But! It should improve my chapter quality! So, should go well.
Ahhhhhhhh.
Trying to start a fic blog is hard. Never done one before in my life. But, we’ll learn on the job.
This post WILL be edited as I figure out how to use it.
