Lady Cora's line after dinner, "How does it help to answer rudeness with rudeness?" from s5e1, is lovely and in that moment made me think of one of the things I always liked about my mother's outlook on social situations as such which she also taught to me. At the very least though unlike my mother I don't go out of my way to be as nice to people I dislike like she does. However this particular line is a very good thing to live by. Tends to also cause a bit less stress about continuing to get angry about the ruder and angrier a rude met with rude conversation can get. Also it suddenly seems very well bred American (which Cora is).

Finally got through with the husband's bday party and home to download and watch Downton (and was so pleased I've not made him too sick of it to join me). Alas I'm a mysterious bucket of mixed emotions though it is rather late and I've work in the morning. So thrilled to have new chapters to my fave current running show but feel all over the place about it. More talk tomorrow. I'm sure there's plenty to read up on on my dash, but I think I'll end the night with some happy fic or something. I had a fascinating dream last night of a mod AU zombie & vampire apocalypse (the two working together) feat the Downton cast & I had less mixed emotions about it than the s5 first ep.

Mission for when I get home (posting this more to remind myself) screen cap and post the new Jimmy tweet from the Downton twitter.... Honestly I had a terribly amusing thought/consensus ... It's another boot room tweet and now all I can think of is the Downton twitter insinuating Jimmy perhaps having some sort of fetish or kink about boots.
