i don't think the third years were there... :(

i kinda thought of that shorty after i made the post too tbh.. i mean, yes, they already retired from the club and are busy preparing for exams and stuff, but even though they probably don’t go to practice anymore, they could still join the others to watch a game together, right? who knows... but i can dream..... :’)

Someone pointed out that the 3rd years could be the ones sitting in the front. Makki and Iwa in front of Yahaba and Oikawa and Mattsun a little bit more to the left :3

yeah, i thought so too! i mean, none of them have really characteristic features in this panel because it’s way too small, so it could also be iwa-chan and oikawa in the left and makki and mattsun in the very front :D but anyways, i want to believe it’s them....

kinda like said above, the third years might have already retired from the club, but they definitely haven’t graduated. graduation is in spring in japan and nationals take place in january. and other team’ third years are playing there, so there’s no way they could’ve graduated already.. but i guess you meant that they retired from the club, but even if they already retired, they could still join their former teammates to watch that game, right?

Ooh okay, I thought it was a reaction of my other reblogs of the kiss. My mistake! 

I honestly don’t think that Yuri’s reacting was mellow at all. He very obviously appeared to be shocked at first, but as Viktor looked at him with such a loving ang gentle look on his face, Yuri’s shock dissapeared and he returned said look. I think this is only logical since Yuri basically already confessed his feelings of love for Viktor in that interview where he revealed the theme of his skating routine. I think this only confirmed to him that Viktor returned his feelings, and that Viktor just said that he wanted to surprise Yuri as a lame excuse, whilst knowing that Yuri would see right through him anyway (this is shown when Viktor just looks at him smiling so lovingly at him when Yuri asks him “really?”)

And with that anime, do you mean Watashi Ga Motete Dousunda? I’ve seen gifs of that kiss scene as well, which indeed weren’t censored. But that is because that entire shows basically revolves around a girl who constantly ships boys in her school together. Even though it isn’t the specific genre, shounen-ai is very central in that anime/manga, and it does have Romance as a genre as well. So basically, a same-sex kiss would be very much expected in a show like that. 

But the only genre that YOI is tagged with is “sports”. Nowhere in the plot explanation nor in the genre tags is it revealed that there would be any form of romance in the show, let alone same-sex romance. I think because of that, they are bound with the censorship law.

Perhaps the creators didn’t label the anime with the romance/shounen-ai genre because it was not their intention at first to have Yuri and Viktor fall in love with each other? That has happened before in animated series (Legend of Korra, for example). And perhaps it is already too late for them now to add a new genre to the series (at least for this season) so they will have to stick with the censorship law for now.

I'd like to say it was definitely a kiss on the cheek. That way, viktor could hug in the end. Yuuri's reaction was too mellow for it to be really kissing and from the beginning Viktor's head is dug way into Yuuri's side. What do you think?

It was very obviously a kiss. The writer of the series even very subtly confirmed it on her twitter (http://viktyuri.tumblr.com/post/153356463398/gotohellsenpai-kubo-confirmed-victor-and-yuri) 

Just a kiss on the cheek would not have caused such a shocked reaction from both Yuri and the audience around him. It was a kiss on the lips, and a very obvious one even though their lips weren’t shown, which as a matter of fact is because Japan has a law for censorship of same sex kisses if the anime genre doesn’t specify that it’s shounen-ai/shoujo-ai or yaoi/yuri. 

This was a kiss on the lips.

It’s nice like this, feeding tangerines into Izuki’s mouth so he can’t make shitty puns and watching a special on TV with the volume on low so they don’t wake up Hyuuga’s parents or brother. And Izuki’s kind of heavy, but Hyuuga won’t say anything (especially not when the weight is mostly toned muscle, perfect for basketball)—it’s not like he’s too weak.

“Hey, Hyuuga,” says Izuki.

“Hmm?”

“This sure is a cozy-tatsu.”

Hyuuga nips at Izuki’s ear. “If it wasn’t so comfortable under here I’d smack you.”

Izuki stretches out his legs, rubbing Hyuuga’s foot with his and Hyuuga feels his grip loosen and God, Izuki is such a fucking tease.

“I knew we should start the new year together,” Izuki murmurs.

Hyuuga will forgive him this, he supposes.
