Did the Dread Wolf Take Her?
Rook (Dozer) really needs to know.
The adventures of Dozer and Solas 1st Edition
Look, my Rook and Solas have major antagonistic brother vibes - they're stuck with each other but they sure as hell don't have to like each other. Though, over time, they begrudgingly come to respect each other.
That dwarf prefers his feet on solid ground and isn't interested in getting into the Dread Wolf's good graces. The old ancient elf is constantly needing to hide his annoyance behind a mask, though you know Solas, he can't help himself sometimes.
Dozer fun with flycam.
Rook as the Inquisitor (+ bonus Inquisitor as Rook)
I took the open tag invite from @fadetouchedlurker.
Could your Rook become the Inquisitor in any kind of AU. Or if not, why not? 🔷 What choices would your Rook make as Inquisitor? 🔷 Would your Inquisitor make a good Rook?
Dozer "Rook" Thorne
Thedas better hope that Dozer never accidentally stumbles into some time travel magic because no one wants a bull rampaging through the delicate diplomacy, studious resolve and diligent strategy that the Inquisition requires of it's leader.
For Dozer. With his lovely face tattoos. Is there one line of them he particularly likes? What about one he doesn't?
Thank you for the ask about Dozer Exia! Poor guy knows Saethre is my favourite child, so it's nice to give him some love lol. I've been building his lore and background quietly for a while now, so this was a great question.
He likes all of it.
In DA, the dwarven facial tattoos typically mark someone as casteless. In Dozer's case, he chose to mark himself because he has essentially "cast" himself out of dwarven culture by choice.
He's Oghren's son from a surface fling, and he and Oghren don't have much of a relationship, Dozer doesn't think very highly of him. Growing up on the surface, he was pretty wild. Very little guidance from his ma, who was more interested in drink and men than raising him. He got into trouble constantly, had a hot temper, was quick to fight, and wanted absolutely nothing to do with dwarven culture, especially the caste system. He hates that type of authority and control. (He will claim he knows about dwarven culture, but he really doesn't, that's part of his journey through VG - reconnecting).
Luckily, Dozer had enough self-awareness to realize he was on a one-way track to rock bottom. So in an attempt to get some order into his life, he followed in his dad's footsteps in the one thing he mildly respected him for and joined the Grey Wardens.
After surviving the Joining, he decided to tattoo his face, proud that he was "casteless" and forging his own path.
The forehead symbol is a shield. He's Dozer, so while he's very much a bulldog, he's also a bulldozer, and the shield is meant to resemble the blade of the machine pushing forward - just shove objects out of the way. But also, even though he is rough, quick to anger, aggressive, and uncouth, Dozer is protective at his core. He's a shield for other people.
The block shapes on his cheeks beneath his eyes symbolize weapons, a sword on one side and an axe on the other. A shield protects, but Dozer isn't satisfied with only standing still and defending. He's a bulldozer. He pushes through with force.
As for the paint across his eyes, well, he's still young and a bit vain so he just thinks it looks cool.
