Forgot if this was asked before; but why *is* Sam your overall fave from Danny Phantom, exactly? Was there any particular moment/episode that made her grow on you, or did you generally love her since the start of the series?

Oooh, I can't seem to dig up the ask if I ever answered this; buuut to give a quick rundown I've just always enjoyed/vibed well with Sam whenever I watched the show; a spunky, spirited heroine with a surprising amount of complexities to her imho.

Snarky, protective over nature, artistically crafty at times, unapologetic in her love for spooky things, and was most often the one keeping her friends in-line when they're being dumb-

...while at the same time, Sam wasn't immune to being vulnerable in her feelings, (secretly) liking cute things, dealing with insecurities any other teen would (esp. thanks to the bullies at her school-), and ultimately wasn't afraid to go geek out & have fun with the ones that matter most in her life... aka: her best friends~💚

Was Sam's writing always perfect? No. Was there times I found her a bit... "much"? Sure. But like, here's the thing yall... she's 14. An age where maaaaany of us were still dealing with the budding stresses of entering highschool, puberty, & a whole other whirlwind of emotions for the next few years to come. And considering some of the bs Sam had to deal with throughout the series, including (in no order):

-Parents who kept pushing their preppy tastes against her will + almost banned her from the only friend circle she has

-Nearly getting forced into child marriage to a creepy old ghost prince

-Her friends' memories of her almost erased due to an impulsive, anger-driven wish

-Getting rage-transformed into a ghostly dragon due to realizing her best friend was being toyed with by his crush ("Here, take your crummy amulet; I'm going back inside to dump your dorky friend!")

-Practically jumped to near-death onto a speeding train. ALL so she could save her best friend from a mind-controlling circus leader

-Getting mind-controlled herself into a scary plant queen, nearly consumed by the earth until Danny came to save her + the town

...honestly? Its a miracle Sam didn't completely snap under all that by series end, oml- TxT;; Which for me, only further elevated Sam up into fave status over the years, if she can stay such a resilient lil spooky bean through it all... soooo yep, TL;DR for the reasons mentioned above, I'll always be happy to defend Sam on this blog, no ifs ands or buts about it~💜🦇👏

Playing laser tag, bowling, space themed mini golf, trying new skateboard tricks, playing in the arcade, stargazing, taking nightly flights around Amity Park, reading comic books mainly about sci fi stuff and superheroes, watching sci fi and superhero movies(def loves DC and Marvel stuff), enjoys watching nostalgic Nickelodeon shows mainly stuff from the 90’s-2000’s but also watches the more modern stuff like ROTTMNT(def wants them to bring it back!!!!!!!!!!) & exploring the ghost zone(when it’s less hectic) and learning more about it. Like an astronaut exploring a planet 🪐

@a-sterling-rose suggestions, playing video games, assembling Space Models, assembling figurines - Assembling figurines that he can't ever let anyone other than Tucker see(Tucker got him into anime, Danny tried to find the least revealing anime girl figures], editing random wiki articles, practice fighting demonstrations from YouTube videos(surprisingly helpful when he started ghost fighting), Test create his own ghost gear(forever a disaster), drawing, drawing maps(needs practice before he maps stars)

Taking into consideration one of the latest reblogs I saw from you I have to ask this... Are you or are you a Danny Phantom fan?

I am a fan-in-law. My mutual loves DP and keeps talking about it so that looks interesting and art very pretty so I reblog it.

There was also that time where a DP anon casually mentioned that it was a very angst heavy fandom and the vivisection fics and I made the mistake of asking if the DP fandom was right, only for anons to flood my inbox in order to horrify me with the truth.

So no, not a fan, just a cordial neighbor.

So I might've watched Danny Phantom... and then gone through your whole tag of it... Ahem. It was so much my kind of show, dang, the friendship and family and whump was everything I love. I loved practically everyone in it, good or bad, although the trio has a special place in my heart. I sure hope they get treated well by fandom, esp. Tuck, whose canon treatment disappointed me sometimes. Am I the only one who ignores the ending tho? ..Thanks for drawing my attention to this show :D :D

That is a lot of DP because I've been blogging about that dumb ghost boy since I started this blog. DP was my first fandom and my whole life 5-9th grade. There's just so much in it to love. Like I've said before, the actual story itself can be kind of trite and annoying but the potential it offers, the basic DNA of the show is so fascinating that it captivates people even 10 years after it's been off the air. People joke about fanon overtaking canon but like the Phans basically took a sledge hammer to canon and built it back from the ground up.

I love those kids, so frigging much. I'd say fanon treats them well but like.... angst is like the glue holding the fandom together. I have read some things in DP fanfiction, horrible things that continue to haunt me to this day. It has, by far, the most horrifying and angst filled fanfiction I've ever come across. Lol, what ending? it sure is sad that DP ended suddenly without resolution. (I've not met one person who likes Phantom Planet, everything about it... was bad. I think only B Hartman was satisfied with it.)

But welcome to the club! I'm glad I was able to pass on the torch. You can search DP all day long on tumblr, the fandom is very much still alive and well. Do you have any crack ships in DP, main cast or your next gen?

Yep~ Three of my most prominent OCs spawned from crack ships, ones I initially played with for the fun of fankid-designing but now I’m too attached to let go lol

(*Another crackship I have in-mind is Ghostwriter/Ember; while I’m still in the process of finalizing their fankid, I gotta love me a ship of a passionate writer & singer duo~ 😉❤️‍🔥*)

Speaking of the canon Danny Phantom show, do you think it could've been worth it to give it another "fourth" season, if you had a choice to give it a better ending/fix up certain story arcs?

Hmmmmm, I do see the appeal in wanting to spruce up the canon ending we got (cause oof, even now I can see how messy “Phantom Planet” was-). For a whole 4th season however… Iiiii feel like it might be a bit “much” imo, if there’s no clear narrative goal in mind? ^^;

Like, with what they’ve been doing with the graphic novel series (aka. the one with Dark Danny & the upcoming Valerie-focused novel), I can tell they’re rife with potential for story arcs. But given some of the clunky writing in the later-half of the canon show, I think we're gonna have to call more for an overhaul of that before tackling another season.

Like here’s what I’d personally suggest for a S3 overhaul (should one choose to keep it as the "final" season):

-Add in more episodes for S3, to give it the same proper bulk of content as the previous seasons + help not feel so "rushed" by the series-end.

-Maaaaybe tone down the Vlad focus in terms of episode plots; yes, I get he is the main series villain... but that doesn't mean he needs to show up all the time imho. Compared to the first couple seasons where he was only ever the "main focus" a handful of times (thus helping him feel like a genuine threat to stay on-edge about), by S3 Vlad just... didn't feel too impressive, villain writing-wise tbh? 🤷‍♀️ As the old saying goes, "Less is More~" 🍵🍵

-Following the prior point, I'd try to incorporate more of a mix of the og villain roster AND the newer ghosts (ex. Nocturn, Undergrowth, etc.) as episode focuses... 'cause ngl, most of the previous baddies did start to feel forgotten-about in S3's narrative, outside of a couple cameos here & there 😔 Like, instead of clumsily shoving Ember, Kitty & Spectra into one episode... have them spread out in their own plots (+bring in Desiree to share the spotlight with one of them too, if you still want some team-up ideas). Or even for a main finale focus, that could be a fun time to bring back Dark-Danny to once more be the "ultimate" threat (symbolically capping off Danny's adventures by facing the reality of "growing up" instead of ignoring it again, y'know?). Just... aaaagh, whyy must all these cool ghosts be shoved off to the side, man... 😭😭

-Have Danny & Sam get together alooooot sooner than the series finale; which yes, I can see how that'd be controversial for those who don't ship them (and/or just don't like romance, period lol)... buuuut I mean, since DxS has been hinted/teased at since S1, then one might as well bring it full circle and show the audience how they work as a couple imo (ex. Kim & Ron during the later eps of "Kim Possible"). Like say, put "Frightmare" ahead of "Urban Jungle" (to allow Danny & Sam to realize they both like eachother through their shared dream), have the angst + raised stakes of "Urban Jungle" break through Danny to confess his love, fights tooth & nail to save Sam (+the others), and then once the dust is settled/reunite back to normal... they have their big kiss moment to seal them as a canon couple (ahh, classic cartoon trope hehe~💗). Cue the rest of the S3 going by as normal (+them being awkward dorks trying to get through ghost adventures while also figuring out dating lol), the finale happens, they have another heart-to-heart to further acknowledge feelings, they fly off in the end committed to one another... The End~ 💜💚

Hmm, your recent updated Sasha art has me curious 🤔 Since you've found ways to repurpose June's friends in this current next-gen edition, do you have any ideas so far for what to do with Sasha's crew?

Hmmmm... honestly I'm not entirely sure? 🤔I did have fun giving Sasha her own lil "clique" back in the day (when she/most of the other NG cast were more highschool-aged). Buuuut since Sasha's been currently revamped to be more of Lilith's circle, and I did give away a couple of these gals awhile back (Charlotte going to a friend of mine + Heidi getting revamped to my original-verse "The Three Mages"), Iiiiii'm not really sure what else to do with Stephanie and/or Tess, ngl .w.;;

-Though, now that I look back at Stephanie... maaaaybe she might fit as a (potential) sister to Tammy? .3. Idk I'll have to think on it a bit more, but it could be something interesting to add more to Tam's character? 👀
