Belle was actually glaring at the boy. What business did he have to talk to her in such a way? She had only tried to be friendly to him. "You DID call me annoying and you were very, very rude. I don't appreciate that. You should at least pretend to have manners when you're speaking to people.
Adam wasn't sure why people took any interest to him here - was it because he was new? He didn't know, or care. "Fine. I'll be a perfect gentleman if it'll make you stop acting like you're some superior being." He scruffed his hair with his fingers, eyes averted elsewhere. Usually when he was being a jerk, people just left him well alone.
"Less sensitive? Perhaps YOU should learn to control your temper." She said, folding her arms indignantly. "Do you talk to EVERYone like this?"
"Just the people that pout and flap around like they're precious flowers. You're acting like I've verbally assaulted you." Adam narrowed his eyes, shoulders squaring.
Belle frowned, unsure of his initial behavior. "Why are you being so abrupt? I only asked a question. If I didn't want to know you, I wouldn't have asked and right now I'm not sure if I'd LIKE to know you. You're not being a gentleman."
Adam frowned a little. "I'm just straightforward. Perhaps you should be less sensitive." He smiled, but it didn't quite meet his eyes. Adam really didn't like being told what to do, especially not when it was about his attitude. He thought he was being exceptionally nice.
I suppose I wouldn't. And yes, it IS Belle. Thank you for asking...what was your name again?
Adam scoffed a little before shaking his head. "It's Adam. You're Belle. I think we have all that clear now, don't we?"
*frowns*I don't mean to. Sometimes I stutter when I'm nervous about meeting new people. Why do you have to be so rude about it?
I'm not being rude, I asked a question. It'd be rude to assume things about you, rather than ask you straight up. Would you prefer I assume things... Belle, was it?
