ottoman and british egypt lore... TW: may be explicit hints of SA though not exactly mentioned.
Ottoman Era -> he never remembers much of what exactly happened during the years as an ottoman province. As if his mind was trying to blur for his own sake. ; during the 1830s ; specifically early 1830s. Is when Ashraf slowly started to fulfill the 'fantasies of the french/British and Turkish 'gaze'. Particularly in an orientalist view as each nation had their own perception of him and his culture [which was ignored blatantly]; to the europeans he didn't feel real. Almost as if he was a dream. An ethereal one, to turkey, whom was well neglectful in his province and had a liking for Egypt as his vessel: he did it for his own enjoyment alongside the europeans. , He physically cannot withhold strength from another overpowering force , it varies but usually his body gives up easily he can't exactly do anything when he's stuck in-between a flight or fight response. It overwhelms him physically to the point his mind can't process it and he becomes silent. Ignoring his exploitation for his own wellbeing once again.
British occupation -> It doesn't end from there , from the first moment Britain had seen Ashraf, they felt things towards the ottoman province; more-so in a sexual view without hinting it ; similarly to ottomans perception of him. They are fond of him and "gave him everything he needed" . It isn't a postive connotation in Egypt's mind, he perceived any colonizer as the other got very sensitive during this era much more then his body could ever handle. He slowly started to give in assuming that Britain would leave him alone. That everything would be fine. Conniving as much as they were. Ashraf couldn't help but manipulate himself to like them romantically as if he were liking any one else of his consideration. It would get to a point where he'd start to dream sexual thoughts of them despite not actually being attracted to them because of how much they ruined his perception of having a loving relationship. Doing everything for Ashraf at the same time giving him a lick of freedom then manipulating him. Manipulation for Ashraf only started when he doubted Them. To Ashraf he never really felt comfortable enough to ever be vulnerable with Them unless he gets something out of it. That something is sovereignty. Egypt's dignity to Britain alike one of envy. He couldn't stand how well mannered Ashraf could ever be. He didn't like how resilient his personality was. Once he could form a backbone against Them, that was when they knew that they'd need to be 'harsh' and aggravating to get what they want no matter how much the tears in Ashraf eyes dwelled. He wanted it to happen he wanted to see him cry helplessly almost sexualizing his vulnerability to the point as in giving Ashraf this Feeling of being disgusted in showing emotion and becoming stoic towards Them.
goodnness god❤️❤️❤️🤣🤣🤣🤣 hes so miserable he will die soon.
Psst.... Egypt lore heart emoji
Egypt's personality had been built over the decades // centuries for ages and one thing that always had stayed in contact within him was his aggressive nature.
1882 - 1956 ,, Egypt's dynamic of his 'relationship with Britain disturbs him;that is only post-occupation where he gets uneasy about Things and rather would forget Britain then to talk about his atmosphere and his feelings' towards him. Britain knew how bad Egypt has always wanted to be a man, he left a gap in-between their relationship to leave Egypt extremely helpless for his acceptance and no one else's, given that Egypt had already felt Britain's 'warmth' of protection on & in him figuratively//possibly literal (?). Britain noted that aspect of Egypt; how bad he wanted to be seen yet no one ever gave him the chance that he wanted . To Britain during the course of the occupation era he still saw // sees Egypt as a female 'biologically' , he doesn't want to suggest it to Egypt but gives him small Hints to give a thought of what they think about him. Egypt gullible as he is; ignored it and pushed his -> Britain's words down out of disbelief, he feels sorrow whenever Britain ignored him and feeling only got worse after he left. Once again Britain knew how bad Egypt wanted to be a man, or in his sense when he was young; a boy. They would make him put on orientalist clothing (specifically belly - dancing) to wash a feeling of embarrassment over him, or to just see him half naked sometimes for his own leisure. He did other things like ██████████ ███ when he dresses him🙏. However Egypt felt of this, once again pushed it down saying it was "Normal and that he felt their love" , he never wanted someone like Britain but he couldn't help it with how much Britain sometimes cared about him when no on else could. Whenever Sudan was near Britain gave him the responsibility of being a guardian towards his 'brother' (Egypt sees him a muse sometimes) . It doesn't end quite well or even ends there. Egypt had so much resentment towards Britain but took it out on Sudan in a non-physical ❤️ or physical context💖. Sudan always had tried to be tolerant of Egypt's nature but he can't help but try to understand if there are layers within layers that Egypt couldn't ever get rid of.
!!yay Its the 1950s and Egypt finally gained autonomy from the englishman.... i wonder will he stay the same..
Its.. the post- independence era , Egypt felt awkward. To talk to the arabs after almost everyone had gained independence was one thing, he didn't like small chats nor big conversations all - at one. Egypt somewhat had to rely on himself over and over again, no one else wanted to rely on him Yet. Egypt had focused more on himself yet at the same time tried to concentrate on how the majority of SWANA thinks , he found a-lot of them similar to him somewhat. He didn't like most of them on his end, everyone was always too dependent on eachother to ever tell that Egypt never liked them nonetheless. His personality sometimes resurfaces as uneasy and dull to some (specifically Syria,Lebanon,Iraq,Yemen) at the time. He tries to find someone like him but no one is like him or the person that he needed of, they only noticed him whenever he refuted colonialism or whenever he offered to fight for them when none of them could. Pan-arabism made its way now !! it's 1958,, Syria proposes a Union with Egypt, Egypt is somewhat hesitant but nonetheless he accepts. It didn't take long for Syria to realize that Egypt was 'using' him, figuratively & literal (up to own interpretation❤️) sometimes ███████ ███ ██████ ███████ despite how many times Syria had showed clear distaste . Egypt constantly ignores the callouts from Syria and tries to ignore him personally. He never asked for a union truly and blamed it on Syria's behalf. He would somewhat adjust to this later on in the ending half of the 50s. His tactics became more developed during the UAR & he doesn't regret it one singular bit he just hoped Syria was more 'stable' for him. But to him Syria was a lost cause and that they should only depend on him and no one else as in no one else really cared for Syria at that Moment. Later into the 60s, the union fell and Egypt's unstated relationship with Syria dissolved. He doesn't look at anyone else not this time. He waits?, it is pre-naksa and Egypt sees opportunities in Yemen to spread his ideology around and does so. 1967. He feels absolutely devastated and digusted of his body more then he was before. The Entity(██████) disliked him in a manner that was too much for Egypt to understand. He always came close to him, giving the feeling of uncomfortable and not-promising things towards the both of them. He disliked him even more and then he woulf start to despise him unconditionally. He would start to have breakdowns and feel his body heating up near the Perpetrator😊. Late - 60s Egypt somewhat Heals from the post-Naksa trauma he endured. He never truly healed from it, it is Just There. More and more countries start new revolutions, & just to his 'luck' Libya is one of those nations. They both never really Payed Attention to eachother, Egypt's eyes had lingered on him once, it just didn't feel right in Libya's view. /They/ didn't feel fond enough of Egypt yet /They/ rushed to go and talk to him, the first person he/they/ talked to after the revolution. They saw him as their idol but still had a gut feeling about him. To them, Egypt wasn't much different, almost the other side of the same coin. Once again, he commits somewhat similar dedication despite knowing that Libya is unstable and unsure on why they are. FF to the 70s and Libya proposed the FAR, Egypt never expected it to happen again but given Libya's nature he expected it. He didn't rush into it he suggested that they shouldn't rush into it for Reasons. ❤️. He somewhat feels at ease with them but his Thoughts said otherwise. Slowly their relationship had a equalized amount of affection but /They/ questioned Egypt alot without ever getting an answer. It was a loopholes of contradictions between the both of them. The 80s-90s are followed up by Egypt being isolated during the whole decade of the 80s, and the 90s aren't any different besides intervening in conflicts.
! Its the early 2010s.... another revolution broke out,, what will you do?... Egypt.😊
Now that the 2011 revolution / 2013 revolution had passed, breakdowns became more frequent as in the fact that no one there actually knew what to Do, Egypt felt clueless and felt he rushed himself into it and that the Arab Spring really didn't give a result. He changed his appearance// appetite, starving himself when the time was right due to the overbearing stress of a overthrown regime. He felt quieter & more silent towards everyone and forth. Modern Egypt is a-lot of an embodiment of his past selves and you can't tell which Egypt you see. Clustered up in him. * He is unsure what life is supposed to look for a mentally stable person and assumes hes fine
egypt/syria dynamic.. and its 9am
post UAR / during UAR.
-> Egypt , who was usually dubbed as a "Savior" during the Arab Cold War, stepped into Syria's life very uninvited but yet also somewhat was needed for Syria. Egypt could clearly tell that Syria hadn't ever been experienced something more truthful and a honest - like relationship. He completely ignored that and just gave Syria his unwanted opinions about him 😭. He was almost everything syria saw in someone until he wasn't. Fast forward to the UAR , Egypt slowly had started to become more non-consensual with his acts between him and Syria (kissing, hugging extremely tight,etc..) , shrugging it off whenever Syria talked about it, saying things like "but you enjoyed it? , I didn't see any displeasure in you".
Egypt generally cannot stand anyone. But to him, Syria was tolerable as long he would 'be quiet' and not bother egypt about anything. Syria had felt very nauseous about Egypt during 1959-1960 and so on, he felt very exhausted of Egypts demands and his extreme feelings for him. Their relationship was out balanced, egypt didn't commit enough but syria slowly lost interest as he realized that egypt didn't seem to be enthusiastic as much as he was.
