So we had this #ford #Kuga in that had been diagnosed as requiring a new #dpf at a cost of £2600!!! The owner brought it to us for a second opinion... after carrying out initial checks we found that all data for the dpf was low and normal? A manual back pressure check of the dpf confirmed this? So what was causing the dpf light to be illuminated??? Further checks highlighted a discrepancy with the exhaust temperatures! Sensor 1 & 2 were reading correct but sensor 3 rose to around 150oC and then went off? We removed the sensor (after dpf) and conducted a continuity check which confirmed that it was at fault and shorting out once a certain resistance was met. We replaced the sensor with a genuine ford one and immediately all error lights extinguished and the vehicle came out of limp mode saving the customer £2400😳💪 to say he was relieved is an understatement!!! Not all dpf warning lights mean your dpf requires replacement or delete!
