question for dead poets society enthusiasts:

if i were to upload the dps novel (by n. h. kleinbaum), what format would be preferred??? text-only in a pdf?? or scanned pages?? chapter by chapter somewhere?? and also where would be best to upload it??

i know there are loads of people who’ve been wanting to read the novelization and since i’ve got a few copies of it & some spare time, i’d work on providing free dps novel access in the best way possible :^)

Slowly reading the novelisation of Dead Poets Society and like. It's same,, but different

Just off the top of my head:

Keating is,, way more dramatic/aggressive I'm kinda shocked lol but yeah idk how i feel about it, it feels less nuanced than the film

They gave the 'then i saw the congo creeping through the black' poem to Pitts instead of Meeks?? So ig they both do that now in my mind, canon is a playground

Neil is more,, idk more obviously bitter? And kinda not the friendliest to Todd like he's not mean but he doesn't hold back either?? And I feel like Todd's anxiety is a lot more apparent. But idk if this's 'cause of how it's written or bc I already know all their personalities. But I feel like everything's a lil idk stronger?

They actually read more poetry in the cave lol

They try to take it more seriously? Idk

The meaning of 'dead poets society' is explained and as soon as i read that i was like oh noooooooooo because FORESHADOWING HITS DIFFERENT WHEN YK WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN

Little little details like certain events or lines are just. Tweaked. It's kinda funny

It's both a lil more and far less gay than the movie

Ginny's an actual character! And she's a shy bean, bless. (I've heard that Charlie and Ginny are a thing in the novel (which just sounded like more arbitrary romance) but now that ik her personality I can see where they might be going with the personality dynamics. Idk we'll see how that goes lol)

Knox is still. Knox. Hopefully he goes about things w Chris a lil differently here but somehow I feel like his subplot may be the most faithfully adapted...

Meeks not only knows what 'carpe diem' means But Also 'hoi polloi', if I wasn't already projecting my love of language/linguistics onto him before I definitely am now <3 Besides that there're a couple Meeks moments that piqued my interest but I think I gotta read more to get a good picture of his character here

But uh yeah ig those are some of my thoughts so far on the official dps fanfic avajkdlfdml
