Yaqeen ka safar
The word "obsessed" falls short for my obsession for this drama. I can't remember the last time I was this obsessed about something. This obsession has marked new records for me, which will remain unbreakable my entire life I'm pretty much sure. That's why I hate good dramas. They take over my entire existence for the time they are being on air. And that is why I prefer watching dramas once they have been wholly aired up till their last episode. Binge watching is fun, and desperately waiting for an entire week to pass by for just one episode is so not.
So I terribly love Yaqeen Ka Safar. People fangirl a lot over Dr Asfi, and even though I really like that character no doubt, it is Dr Zubiya's character that gets me more.
I relate myself to Dr Zubiya a lot. First of all she is also a doctor like me! And I really like it how she is going through the constant learning process while being a doctor. You don't become a good doctor overnight. She makes mistakes. She gets scolded by Dr Asfi over them. And so she tries to not repeat them. She is scared of tough situations like all doctors are, for example, delivering a baby with little equipment. She also loses patients and gets so saddened upon it. She was clumsy at first, but with time she is getting better at it. She is delicate, yet hardworking and dedicated to her job. Female doctors are really like that.
And now about her character, I relate myself to that as well. She made a huge huge mistake when she was young. When she was seeking love outside of her home because she could not find it inside her home. Alhamdulillah, I never did that, and alhamdulillah I have always had loving parents by my side. But a few mistakes here and there I have made, and I'm truly regret them. Boys are a strict no no for me, and whenever I interact even a little with them, I can't help but regret over it, because that's what my religion teaches, to not freemix with the opposite sex.
She realizes the grave mistake she had made and asks for forgiveness from Allah. She says such a powerful dialogue that: "Allah maaf krdeta hai magr insaan maaf nahi karta."
She does everything to make herself get accepted in her society, but acceptance of sinners is not done in our society, and that really is the bitter truth. No matter how much of a pious person becomes after that one sin, people will only remember us for that one sin.
Dr Zubiya's character is the strongest character in the whole drama. She faced so much hardship her whole life, yet she still doesn't give up on her life, and stays tall, standing on nothing but her own feet to do it. She is all alone, yet still so strong.
Everyone else had at least someone by their side while they were facing their tough times. She had none. She still has none.
Now it's for the last episode to decide if Dr Asfandyar will be that one person who will accept her completely.
Awaiting anxiously ANXIOUSLY for the clock to strike 8. I can't even focus on my studying till then. It's been a long long week for me! 🕗
