And if I got something wrong about your character (maybe an event, or a character trait, or something) or you just want something changed in their introduction, like a mischaracterization, go ahead and send me an ask or tell me on Slype. I don't want to mess up anyone's character's personality for this.
This was literally my favorite part of the whole song but when I made the first video I had no idea who to use for it so I just kind of skipped it

oKAY to ~fully understand~ some personal motives behind it we gotta go back to before Elyse was even enrolled in hope's peak and such sO HERE WE GO
Elyse was an incredibly lonely child, which was upsetting for him because he loved people, he loved meeting them, talking to them, just interacting with others. So he had a plan for school, be nice and do whatever anybody asks you to do. (aka be a complete pushover) And that's what he did, he did whatever others asked him to do (homework, doing all of a group project, "helping"(basically doing everything while the person just sat around the room) with after class activities, really anything.) He was basically used a lot, and he didn't see anything wrong with it because he felt that it made others happy and that was enough for him.
Now of course even after all of this he was really just that one kid that everybody only liked because he did stuff for them. He was still bullied (being girly, being smart, his parents never being around, ect.) but he just tried to brush it off as a friendly joke, thinking it would be the best for his own sanity. (kind of like he did with the mutual killing thing and the motives) But of course, this eventually got out of hand and made him want to never be seen by them again, thinking they just hated him and only kept him around for his skills, which eventually lead to online schooling to avoid this. (Which left him incredibly lonely once more, in fact some of the only contact he has now is with teachers, voice actors, writers and the subtitle person for his show.)
Now enter the time he gets a letter from hope's peak, saying he's been accepted to go to the best school in Japan. Now he was thrilled that he was able to go to a new school, and have a fresh start, another chance. This time he was still going to be nice to everybody, but not do everything for them. (he'd still do a lot of things people would ask him to do but there were a few he'd refuse.) And this plan actually went pretty well! He made a bunch of friends, best friends and even had a girlfriend! (which was a first for him, even just the having someone like him back like that was a first.) But then the most despair inducing incident of man kind happens, and the school life of mutual killing begins.
He rubbed it off as a joke, and thought of it as just a weird way for everybody to get to know each other, and tried to make sure everybody thought the same. Now in comes Mi, his "first" friend. (of course, that he remembers) Now this was incredible to him, because she was such a friendly person! And the fact that he made a friend was great enough for him. Then he made friends with others which was even better! (Yui, Cynthia, Nagisi, Ajaya, and others I can't think of off the top of my head)
Now in comes the DVD motive, which at first he wasn't very startled by. (still thinking this was all fake and some joke) But he was curious and curiosity did kill the cat in this. He went in and tried to figure out what his parents were mumbling, and when he found out he was devastated. But of course this somewhat softened the blow of the static image at the end of the video, since they were talking shit behind his back.
Now here comes case 1, Jamie, a boy he barely knew about, died. He was freaking out, still thinking it was a joke. ("Come on Jamie this isn't funny anymore wake up!") But of course, Jamie was really dead, and this made him incredibly scared. (Because if a sports star could be killed easily, what's a weak boy like him have to fight back?) He was so scared he couldn't even investigate because of sheer fear that someone was a killer.
And in comes the trial, and of course he somehow manged to pass out on accident during the first few minutes of it. (standing up might I add) And here everybody was suspecting him, and when he woke up he was shocked. Why were they doing this? What has he ever done to them? Are they really trying to say him liking sweets is a legitimate piece of evidence? He was confused, upset and just wanted to tell them it was him just so it could end, but of course that would mean they would all die while the killer got away, so he didn't. But then here they are, going and suspecting his "first" friend (that he remembers) and that was it, suspecting him was one thing but doing that to poor Mi was way out of line! He was willing to take the fault of something he knows he didn't do just to have her in the clear! Why? Because he'd do anything for practically anybody, and for his friend? His first one at that? He'd actually do ANYTHING for them.
So the trial is just about wrapping up at this point, it's obvious Mi is the culprit and it's about to end. And the there's Mi herself, confessing her love to him and kissing him. Which (Elyse believed) was a first for him. And then some of her dying words, "Vi, I hope you die next. Elyse, I love you, get out alive" and then she's taken away to be executed before everybody's eyes.
After Mi has died there's quite some reactions, some in horror, some just "that's what she gets" and then there's people right out insulting her, even though she just fucking died. So of course this breaks Elyse, raising his voice and insulting others, just in sheer pain of all the events that have happened. Later, after crying his eyes out for hours, he acts incredibly monotoned, no emotions, nothing. Of course someone (Cynthia) comes and helps him to at least not act so weird soon after so that's good.
Now before we get into the chapter 2 motive (the one that helped push him over the edge) let's take into account Elyse's relationship with Mi. Mi was his best friend, and he never thought of her as a lover, he thought of her the greatest friend in the world, and that's it. (Which in my opinion is better than lover because Elyse likes to joke around, be silly, which he would feel odd doing with a lover until proven otherwise.) So when she confessed to him, he was in shock. Now take into account that some of her dying words were "Elyse I love you" and Elyse, is incredibly easy to manipulate, even without someone even trying to be such. (Mi obviously had NO intentions of doing such things to him or planned on him taking it this way) So obviously he felt guilt. Guilt that he never saw it before, guilt that they were her dying words, and let's not forget, the guilt he would have felt if he didn't return the feelings because he knew what it was like to like someone and have them not like him back. (Of course, Elyse still would have liked Mi as a good friend, but Elyse's situation in that department was being mocked and laughed at for liking someone so there's a huge difference) So to put it shortly, he would feel guilt if he didn't like her back that way and in a sense, did it just to try to be a nice person.
Okay now to chapter 2's motive, kill someone before a certain date or everybody goes through "detention". Which of course, he tried to shake off as a joke, in order to keep his own sanity. But Nagisi told him that it was probably otherwise he saw that he wasn't exactly doing the best thing, joking about it and pretending like it's nothing because he saw what happened and this is serious shit. So then he started to think of plans, plans on how everybody could get out safe and sound. These included him distracting monobear while the others escaped through vents or something, but that would obviously leave him there alone and stuck to go through detention, alone. Another was to have everybody try to destroy all the monobears but those only appear when one of them is destroyed (exploded or something) so that wouldn't work. (Plus Elyse would have been the one to make him explode, so he'd eventually die for harming the headmaster)
So basically every plan he made wouldn't work and ended in him getting hurt, left behind, or even killed. So then he starts to think of another plan, Monobear told them to kill someone before friday, but they never said who, so he began to plan a murder, and the victim? Himself. He was planning to commit suicide if somebody didn't kill someone before friday. He was going to make it incredibly obvious as well, making sure they all survived the trial. Of course this would only buy them more time to find a way out but it was better than nothing. So he set out to make amends with everybody before he did the deed, mostly, amends with Vi. He regretted what he said and wanted to apologize. He didn't care if she accepted it, he just wanted to say sorry before he died.
Okay right now the events of what actually happened are kind of blurry to me? (The original plan I think was for him to kill her before apologizing but the trial had a fight break out and it partially being an accident) Let's go with the trial version of the story, since it's most likely the one being used story wise. So a fight broke out, Vi found out he was going to kill himself and even after what happened in the previous trial, she couldn't let him do it. Elyse hit her upside the head with a potted plant and knocked her out. He was in complete shock at what happened and was about to wake her up. But then he thought, wait, why was he killing himself again? To save some jerks who suspected him of killing Jamie? The ones who never helped Mi so she would have never done what she'd done? And, adding from his guilt from the first trial, the ones who killed the only girl to like him in such ways?
So then he did it, he killed Vi. Suffocating her with an empty soil bag, cutting her tounge off (for symbolism) and leaving her dead body there, no remorse, no nothing. Now, he did this in a state of shock, he planned on coming clean when the trial came and being killed, like he deserved. (which is why he left his tie there, to prove that he did kill her) But then he began to wonder even more, why should he? Why only fulfill one of Mi's dying wishes? Why not fulfill them all? Vi dying next, Him getting out alive, him making sure her brother is okay, the reason she even killed Jamie in the first place. So he began to hide the evidence, of course he has an eye for detail and not really the big picture so he only got the small things. (Scissors, potted plant remains, her tongue) But he forgot the tie, since he was in a hurry and he didn't even notice the marker falling out of a hole in his backpack (gotten from ripping it on one of the gardening tools in such a hurry)
So then the investigation starts, he plans on "helping", and pretends like nothing happened. His performance could almost earn him the title of SHSL actor, nobody suspect him during the investigation by the way he was acting. ("Tie thieves!" Claiming he wanted to make amends with Vi and it was a shame she died, easily willing to let Nagisi search his room with Hisoka's permission, making plans for after the trial with Hisoka that he knew either way he couldn't keep.) And throughout the whole trial he helped with vague details ("Why was Vi there so late at night?") to not seem suspicious at all. Now eventually he broke down, after being accused twice in a row, eventually messing up and letting the topic of his plans slip. Which, after the MTB, had him mess up yet again, his plan of suicide slipping out as well. Which made it a dead give away that he killed Vi. And in the end, he didn't care anymore, he didn't care if they hated him or liked him or missed him, he just wanted to be remembered. Even being remembered as a heartless monster was better than not being remembered at all to him.
And there it is, he's executed, he's dead. He had no traces of emotion on his face during the whole thing not because he was bored, but because he didn't care anymore, he was going to die, and he accepted that. It was the end of a series called his life, and he was fine with the finale, not disgusted by it or excited by it, he was just okay with it.
