Your top surgery looks so good!!! Have you said / would you say which doctor you went to?
Thank you so much!!
I saw Dr. Dulin at the American Institute for Plastic Surgery in Plano Texas. I had a great experience, and really loved my nurse Shannon too. Dulin is like a real gentle giant character who was great at answering my questions and meeting my needs for surgery.
4 Weeks Post Op (1/24/20)
No one reads these but it's a good journal exercise so whatever. Anyways, I had top surgery on 12/26/19 with Dr. Dulin and here's how my recovery has progressed since last week. Tw for like medical and gross stuff.
• Got that new compression shirt and it's actually pretty good although I have to step into it to get in on and off plus it still has that thick band at the bottom to keep it from sliding up but it's still so tight on my hips and doesn't really do its job as it still folds up. It is well made though and does its job okay.
• My nip stitches have all (for the most part) fallen out which is good although it looks a little wack right now from divots that the stitches left.
• My nips smell SOOO BAD no one told me they smelled like that but it's like my whole nip smells like how healing piercings smell if you know what I mean. It's not great but it's getting better.
• A little part of my incision opened up on the left side (which I probably should have told my nurse about) but it didn't bleed and it's so small that I'm not really worried I might just put a bandaid on it.
• Carrying a rolling backpack SUCKS but I have to so I guess it's fine I just hate drawing attention to myself
• Sent the nurse questions about the surgery and recovery as well as some pictures they asked me to send so hope that goes well. I probably won't update directly after I get a reply. I'll just put it in net weeks post.
• I've started doing very easy exercise that's mostly ab stuff and legs. I have done some arms but it's mostly like arm circles and stuff like that that doesn't involve any weights. I thought that would be good for getting my pecs and upper arm muscles warmed up and active.
• The scars are looking fine, they are mostly healed and just need to calm down now so hopefully all my scar care is helping
• My nipples are also at the stage where they are bright red. Like not super bright but they used to be very light pink so they kinda look like Pepperoni's right now. Also a part of my left nipple scar is very gunky and gross so hopefully that will calm down. The nurse has a picture of if it's an issue she can help me with it.
hey I got top surgery with dr. dulin in plano tx last week, so if anyone has any specific questions about him and the pre op and post op process and all that jazz hmu!
Hello world I have top surgery in 34 days :')
Saying it doesn't feel real. I've always felt like I was going to be stuck in this "wrong" body forever. I feel like even after surgery I'll think it's all a dream. I'm so....excited! Nervous! Ready for it to happen!
Gotta finish the semester first tho. 4.0 szn, then surgery.
my top surgery adventure, part 1
beyond thankful for how smoothly my recovery has gone, and to have such good people around me
day of surgery-->2 days post op
