Mihir is way too underrated................. Give my boy some love 😢😢😢😢
hysde and lanyon silly sketch whheweheheh
I really enjoy thinking about J&H as a commentary on the Victorian era people rather than any inherent evil within Hyde. Because so much of what’s said in the book is soooo interesting when you remember to view it from the time period it was written and set in.
Hyde being how he is turns into a direct parallel to everything Victorian society stands for. Hyde is raw and real and it’s just so starkly alien to them. He has desires, he has urges, he has fears and he has anger. He has every little thing that was supposed to be pushed down by society—and so he is hated.
There is never ever an unbiased opinion in the book, not from Utterson, or Lanyon, or even Jekyll himself. Everybody is disgusted by this man because he was everything they couldn’t be, EVEN DOWN TO SIMPLE UGLINESS.
Hyde was damned from the very moment he left the cabinet because his existence was seen as a deformity of man by those around him.
lanyon is a little bitch
In my ongoing endeavors, I have finally managed to draw characters aside from Mr. Hyde! And in (mostly) semi-suitable condition, no less!! Doodle dump follows:
Aaaand two (2) almost, not-quite Lanyons which remain as a design that is basically a placeholder. Included as a bonus.
The medical board has spoken.
Dr. Lanyon's turn this time woooo!
Uh.. but yeah, poor guy 😭
