After a record breaking warm summer, Bergen is looking more like itself the last few days - rain showers and 16 degrees Celsius today #raindrop #regndråpe #dråpe #drop #droplet #regn #rain #Bergen (ved Bergen, Hordaland)
Rained a bit last evening and night - it has barely rained at all here in May, June and July. Sunny and nice almost all summer so far. In a place where the average rainfall is 2250 mmm (89 inches), this is unheard of and VERY unusual.

Dråpe - Blue Skies
10 track album
The album is out on our bandcamp with lyrics!
Dråpe (draw-pee) are such a lovely Norwegian dream pop band. Think Tame Impala with more Nordic melancholy. Now, I’ve only listened to the Relax/Relapse album, but I loved it so much I bought a vinyl. I don’t have a vinyl player, but that was the only physical release they had, and I needed it (Harry, still need to come by and listen to it at yours). This is the song that hooked me, it has that perfect mix of melody and trippy-ness I really like it. It has so many sounds that can just grab you and be like “whoaaa”. It starts with looping guitar wizardry, brings in them dream-pop loose drums, the punchy melodic bass and droning psych guitar/keys. Perfect. Then her beautiful, down-tone, voice fills the gap when the verse hits. They hit the nail on the head with the very slight echo on her voice in the first architect line “my friend the architect he made, he made me a trapdoor he made, he made me a trapdoor, he made me a trapdooooor”. The quieted chorus that starts at 2:30 brings tears to my eyes, it is beautiful, the guitar line is so soulful that comes after the bass-vox. It has so many other moments like that, and I don’t want to ruin the song by picking it apart. Just listen to it fully and imagine yourself in a beautiful open woods at 2am and it’s fully bright (as it’s the Nordic summer) and you are with your lover, knowing that summer will end some time, but it doesn’t matter for now.
