Gerardo Murillo (whose pseudonym, Dr. Atl, comes from an Aztec term for water) started making prints of the mountains of Mexico and the Americas during a stay in Paris in 1911–14. This example is a meditation on the beauty of the volcano as a bridge between the earth and the cosmos.
