This feels kinda random but.

I live in a pretty liberal state. One of those states where they said "it doesn't matter who you vote for, you know Harris is gonna get the votes"

And I'm in high school. Currently, we're reviewing course content for the AP U.S. History exam. Aaaaand we're talking about the south. Someone in my class said "So the South is Racist all the time" and more or less everyone agreed. Which then eventually led to the statement of "Everyone from the South is a bigot"

I'm from the South, pretty open about it too, especially when my accent pops out and people ask me if i'm putting it on or otherwise faking it. I'm also genderfluid and am open about that as well.

And for some reason, this statement of "every southern person is a bigot" has led to misgendering me more and more because apparently southern people can't also be queer? Which sucks because I have finally been able to get people to use he/him pronouns for me on my masc days and now most people in my APUSH class are right back to exclusively she/her for me.
