Something I never understood about Dr. Deaton's clinic

If it is covered with mountain ash and other stuff which supernatural can't cross then how the hell do Scott and others come into his clinic. But if Deaton opens it for them to let them in what about the other times that they just straight open it without Deaton.

Like what???? how can they always manage to get in but not the alpha pack in season 2. and how was Void!Stiles able to get in when he was possessed by the Nogistune??
