Post OP & whatnot.
As of tomorrow, December 17 I’ll be 2 weeks post op.
I had top surgery with Dr. Schechter here in Chicago.
To be honest, I’ve been on a roller coaster since then.
December 3rd was the big day, and the surgery itself took around 6 hours. I was a pretty big chested guy to begin with so I wasn’t very concerned about that. I had a really bad reaction to the anesthesia tho. I woke up and I was really cold. I threw up 3 times before I left the hospital and twice more after I got home.
3 days after surgery I returned to the ER with a terrible headache that was a combination of the Norco and me sleeping sitting up. It was the worst headache I’ve ever had in my life.
5 days after surgery I went into his office to get checked out, got a first look at my chest - did not see him at all, saw his assistant and the nurse
7 days after surgery I went back into his office to get the drains removed - did not see him at all, saw his nurse
11 days after surgery, a scab fell off right under my right armpit and it wouldn’t stop bleeding, so I went back to the ER to make sure that I didn’t need stitches. All was well and I went home.
13 days after surgery, I went in to see Dr. Schecter because I had concerns with the nipple grafts. He was able to “squeeze” me into his day, saw him for approx 5 min.
Overall, unimpressed by his manners tbh, just happy to be healing up and be done with this.
feel free to drop any questions! I know there isn’t a lot about him out there.
***this could also be bc im Latino but honestly I don’t even want to think about that anymore LOL
