dr. splitz & splitzy // rescue me
I managed to find and buy a copy of TOON Magazine that advertised Space Monkeys a few months before it aired! I plan on scanning the pages for cleaner upload in the future, but I'll share the full article below:
(there are so many typos, wow)
Splitzy/Dr. Splitz from Captain Simian And The Space Monkeys is canonically plural!
Yes, their names are super on the nose. They’re a system of two, and are explicitly described and shown as such! Or, described as “alternate personalities”, but this is a 90s kids show so oh well. The two are depicted and treated as their own distinct people, and have a kind of brotherly relationship. They bicker a fair bit (over their very different demeanors…) but they care for each other more than anything. One episode when they were given a chance to get their own separate bodies, the two eventually choose to reunite despite a very real possibility reversing the procedure could KILL them both.
And they’re good guys! They’re protagonists!!!!
.
And bonus
Oh yeah. I like.
Spydor really is the pocket p...rimate of the Space Monkeys.
