My dad has been showing me his favorite movies as a kid.
I actually took these picture on April 3rd but never officially posted them so here they are!
The first two were taken at a lake/swiming area that (for some reason) wasn’t closed. I was holding the figurines with one hand and my phone with the other (no idea how that worked).
First of the two is Caesar and Koba (some Caba scene attempt thingy). I used the war-painted models because they have calmer facial expressions than the other ones.
Second one is Ursus. I know I’ve been experimenting with editing my pictures and adding lighting and shading to them but I didn’t do that with this picture-that’s natural sunlight you’re seeing!
And finally, this scene thingy.
Honestly, ever since I posted that Box of Doom pic back in Jaunary (which I should really do again) I’ve been obsessing over my PoTA figures and been wanting to make more scene pictures like that but haven’t been able to until Quarentine happened.
I’ve made a bookcase, two chairs, a couch, a coffee table (which are all in this picture), a dinning room table, a cupboard, two counter tops and a grill/firepplace. All are made out of cardboard, masking tape, Elmer’s glue and hot glue (with bendable wire and toothpicks also being used for the grill thingy and the cupbard).
I’m not entirely sure if they fit with the aesthetic of the orginal Planet of The Apes but I also made pillows for them out of quliting-sized fabric (the big blue one is perfect for helping the figurines sit).
I was also able to get Zira and orange suit gorilla (he came with no name on his box) to stand by putting masking tape on their feet. It also worked to keep the objects in the bookcase to stay still.
The deerhead came from a magnet set I got a while back. It was orginally white with golden antlers so I painted it to make it more realistic and broke a key (that came from a pencil box) and hot glued it to a cardbard piece and stuck the deerhead on it using the magnet (just for the novelty of being able to have the deerhead tilted, upside down or side ways).
I’ll use these sets and furniture pieces for scenes using these figurines. This picture (which I did add lighting and shading to) was more of a test shot than anything else-I just wanted to see how they’d all fit and look in the room. No plot here but I’d like to think they’re arguing/trying to have a decent discussion about humans. XD
I’m also trying to make sets and furniture pieces for the reboot Planet of The Apes figurines but it’s taking longer as it requires sticks and hot glue and I’m not even close to finishing a coherent structure that could belong in that univeres.
All three pictures are (c) Me
The figurines seen in the pictures belong to me but the characters are (c) Planet of The Apes.
So I just came back from June Lake and I had taken some pictures to use as backgrounds for some of my stuff! 🤩
First one is of Fluffy: This one was actually taken last week but I didn’t have a chance to post it until now. I was going for a ‘pastel style’ look here (and I’m FULLY aware that the sitting position she’s in isn’t good for her back but it was the only good pose I got of her so...Lets just say Fluffy isn’t always sitting with that posture! 😅)
The second one is one I just posted on Amino! I should have shaded her body, but I didn’t think of that until it was too late (it’s a pain in the @$$ to shade/highlight when the line layer is already merged in the colored layers!)
And the last one is more of a re-imagined style of Dr. Zira from the original PoTA movies. I don’t really like the original movies as much as the remake movies, but I do love the aesthetic and the character styles from those movies. I might play with Zira more like this, since I have other ideas with her dress! 😄
