Nightmares, Dreams, Memories || Drabble || Pt. 1
She knew he didn’t mean to.
The hand wrapped tightly around her wrist was only an accident, he wasn’t being deliberately aggressive with her. He was just worked up and she’d tried to walk away, something she knew he hated her doing if she was honest. Yet she had still turned her back on him, so it shouldn’t have surprised her when he reached out and pulled her back.
His grip on her wrist was tight and turning back around to face him, she tried to wriggle her limb free. That only succeeded in him tightening his grip as he glared down at her. He yelled at her, despite being so close, her other hand pressing against her stomach protectively. “l’m sorry,” she whimpered out, not even sure what she was truly apologising for. The hormones running through her body didn’t help but it was a natural reaction to her being scared. His eyes focused on the tears and immediately let her go, realising what he’d done. Apologies flew from his mouth as she cradled her arm against her. He reached forward and she flinched, weary after their encounter but his hands didn’t strike her or hold her too roughly. Instead his arms encircled her gently and despite her better judgement she relaxed against him. She knew he didn’t mean to hurt her. Not really.
