It was over. Team Plasma had been defeated...hadn't they? Ghetsis had flown in to a rage and been dragged off by the Shadow Triad. Rosa shivered as she replayed the last 15 minutes over in her mind again. The threatened impalement by Kyurem, the splicing of Zekrom and Kyurem, and the gruelling battle against Ghetsis himself. It could've gone either way, and Rosa had been seriously worried at many points. But the love she held for her Pokemon, the strong bonds she'd forged with her team, pulled her through the fight, much worse for wear, but alive. Slowly, she stood up, on shaking feet, and gently sprayed a potion on her weakened Altaria. "C'mon, girl," she whispered to the tired and injured dragon. "Let's get out of here." She hugged the fluffy cloud dragon tightly as they flew off in to the night, towards Lacunosa Town, the nearest town to the chasm.
It may have been over, and N had told her as such, but Rosa didn't feel relieved. The normally strong and optimistic trainer couldn't help but let a stray tear slip down her cheek as the scene refused to leave her mind. The icicles...circling, coming ever closer...it was an experience that Rosa somehow knew wasn't going to leave her mind any time soon. --- Curtis was slumped in his dressing room, after an incredibly long day. He'd only arrived back from Johto that morning (it had been a great trip, admittedly - although he'd had to work a lot, he had had some time off to go fishing at the Lake of Rage, which had been incredible, he'd told anyone who listen that he'd managed to catch a Gyarados this big - but he'd let it go, obviously), and had another full day of performing and interviews. Luckily, his day was finally coming to an end and he couldn't wait to get home and relax and...
...wait a second, that was his LiveCaster ringing. Sighing, he grudgingly went to pick it up...only to see Rosa's face. His expression instantly brightened...and then faltered again. She was smiling, but she'd very obviously been upset. And the thought of Rosa being upset very nearly broke Curtis' heart. Ever since he'd first heard her voice he'd liked her, and as soon as he'd met her in person that 'liking' had become something more of a fast motion falling head over heels for this utterly adorable trainer. Too bad she didn't know about Christoph. Couldn't know about Christoph. That would ruin everything. One day, he'd tell her. Tell her what he really did for a living, and if she was still listening and hadn't slapped him in the face, tell her how he felt about her and how sorry he was that he was so busy with work (and doubtless, she was busy training for the Pokemon League) because really he just wanted to spent every waking moment with her and it was no wonder that Yancy found every opportunity to tease him about his infatuation, it was utterly ridiculous. "Hey Rosa! What's up?" he asked, concerned. "Hey...how was your trip?" she replied, casually avoiding the question. "Fine, but I asked how you were first," he retaliated, pretending to be stern (not an expression he could accurately pull off, of course). "I...can we meet up?" His heart skipped a beat. Sure, he was tired, and wanted more than anything in the world to go home and sleep, but Rosa was in need of someone to talk to, and Curtis was more than willing to be that person. "Nimbasa Ferris Wheel, half an hour?" he offered. Rosa looked at her watch hesitantly, before nodding. "I can't wait to see you," he blurted, before blushing furiously and hanging up. --- Daintily licking her Casteliacone, Rosa managed to feel a little lighter in spirits in the company of Curtis, who listened attentively to her story (although he did have a little trouble comprehending some of it - Team Plasma's motives seemed so confusing, not to mention that Ghetsis tried to kill a young woman for no reason other than that she was in his way). Worry creased his handsome features as her story continued, so she worked to quickly change the subject. After all, she didn't want him to worry about her, she was fine. Well, not fine, but she'd cope. She had the Pokemon League to conquer, after all. Her Pokemon were relying on her and hey, she had defeated Team Plasma. "You know," Curtis started, sensing that she wanted to talk about something else. "I've never actually been on the Ferris Wheel. I've wanted to, but I've, well, never had anyone to go with..." he looked at her, raising an eyebrow. Rosa grinned, grabbed his hand, and pulled him along to the Ferris Wheel, not even realise what she was doing until they were seated, at which point she didn't care to take her hand from his. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" she said, eyes wide as she looked out towards the Castelia skyline. Rosa's eyes shone, and Curtis couldn't help but smile appreciatively at how her face lit up. "It really is," Curtis whispered in response, talking more about the girl beside him than the view. Indeed, he could hardly focus on the view being in such close proximity to Rosa. She squeezed his hand, in a comforting manner. "I'm so glad we got to go on this togethe-ah!" The wheel jolted - it was in need of some repairs - and the two of them were forced in to even closer proximity, lips awkwardly touching lips, eyes gently closing before fluttering open again, realising what they were doing. "Oh, I-I'm sorry!" Rosa exclaimed, looking away hurriedly to mask the blush that crawled across her face. "N-no, don't be..." Curtis added, also pointedly looking in the other direction. Hands slowly drifted apart. You fool! they thought, in unison. She's suffered so much today, you're making it worse. He's here to be your friend, you asked him here, you don't need to make a fool of yourself. "Um, so I'll, uh, talk to you soon, I guess?" Rosa asked, looking up at Curtis with hope in her eyes. Keep smiling, she reminded herself. "Yeah...I really loved hanging out with you again..." he began, as they parted, beginning to walk their separate ways, each under a cloud of confusion and self-deprecation. "What am I doing?" they whispered to themselves, in unison. They stopped. Turned. And fell in to each other's arms, lips shyly meeting each other in a chaste kiss underneath the rotating lights of the Ferris Wheel. They'd been through a lot, but they had each other to lean on now, and they weren't going to let go. There was no need to talk, not right now. And although they would soon have to part, they were going to hold on to every last second underneath the summer sky.
