You looked at the date on the information packet again. Your gallery exhibition was in two days. A grandiose collection of all your years of hard work. The only issue was your desired plus one. You weren’t sure he would accept your invitation.

Pet names aside.

Butterflies swarmed your belly as you walked into the studio. Viktor was already there. He’d set up your table for you.

Turning to you, his smile faltered as he studied your face. “You seem nervous, dove.”

“Vik,“ you sighed, “would you - that is - I was wondering…”

“Yes. I’ll be your escort for your gallery.”

You were sitting in a cafe, waiting for Zayne to come back with your orders. 

Winter’s cold hit harder today, snow covering the streets, painting the city in whites. Sitting there in his cardigan, cozy, warm, smelling just like him felt magical. 

Your winter wonderland. 

He set your orders returning to his place. 

Your fingers brushed accidentally, and when you looked at him, he was as nervous as you were. 

You giggled, a chuckle joining in. 

“It’s silly.“ you were never so nervous on a date before.

“It is. 

“More nerve wracking than open heart surgery? 

“Yes. Because it’s you.

Owen winked and slid the drink in front of Amirah.  “On the house.” 

She sighed as he walked away, sipping the drink.  “I really wish he’d just stop trying.  I’m never going to date him.  Perfecting my craft leaves little time for romance.”

The door jingled and she, Heidi, and Pablo stared at the newcomer; a smiling young woman with an athletic figure.  

“Lucy!” Owen boomed with a giant grin.  “You always brighten my day!”

As Owen gushed over the new builder, Pablo smiled cattily at Amirah’s sour face.  “Looks like you won’t have to worry about it much longer.”

   Kalim may or may not be on a date, he’s not sure. After all, it’s just a trip to the nearby port town, following Jamil closely as he buys everything he needs for the upcoming week, but it feels a little different because they’re dating now which should mean something. He thinks.

   They’re holding hands so it sounds like a date – but Jamil always does that so he doesn’t get lost. They stop by a coffee shop to buy food that they share – but they always do that. All this begs the question – have they always gone on dates unknowingly?

I'm so slow and tired and have zero inspiration. But we persevere.

"Wake up, wake up! Don't waste the day away! It may be your last!"

"Gggg-"

Dusa turned her back on the palm-sized robo-rooster, smothering herself with a pillow to muffle its irksome sound.

As undeterred as its creator was, the little bird hopped on the bed and began pecking the slumbering figure.

"Wake up!"

"Shut uuuup, I said."

"Wake up, Dusa! Remember today-pheweee!"

A fisted hand rocketed out of the blankets and sent the poultry flying across the room. It immediately ran off to the kitchen.

"Hey!" Reka shouted. "Don't harm Roger! He was just reminding you of the date!"
