Reason #11 Hecula is peak: the scenario of the forbidden, open secret relationship :) Hector and Dracula having private sessions or conversations :) Hector keeping Dracula's company in his private quarters when he needs to rest :) the two meeting in the darkest corners of the castle... perhaps with the help of said castle, who only wants what Dracula wants :) (also, you're free to imagine Hector hidden under Dracula's cape while he sneaks a kiss)
I will need a throat lozenge because of how much I am SCREAMING. (but outside of that, i am perfectly normal about them)
The mental image of Hector hidden by Dracula's cape....... while they k..... ki...... aaaaaa 🥺 Also Dracastle real <3 the Castle is the real bro here
The Castle was not simply Dracula's home. It was a friend, a dear companion, an extention of his will that stretched far and molded for him.
It was no mere building made of bricks and mortar. The walls, the floor, the furniture, all radiated with eldritch life straight from the bowels of Hell. And with that life came sentience, an abstact mind that spoke to Dracula's and Dracula's alone. It projected its visions, its thought, its emotions.
When Dracula sat on his throne, rooted to the rest of the castle, it spoke to him with the closest thing it could feel to fondness. To that, he was used to, and he welcomed it.
What he would have never expected, though, was for a presence to brush his lips, faint yet palpable, like a lover's touch.
Dracula put a hand on his mouth, still tingling. In his mind, the Castle was pleased.
His name was still Mathias Cronqvist when he discovered the true extent of the powers he had bargained his soul for.
He wished for a home, a place where he could exist in peace rather than hide in the Codrii Vlăsiei like a lowly vagrant, and the home came to be.
It was but a pale imitation of his old mansion, small and crooked to boot, but it was Mathias', shaped by his will and part of him.
Decades passed. As Mathias' body kept twisting into something unrecognizable, and he shed his human name in favor of Vlad Țepeș, and the darkness in him grew, the home followed suit, morphing itself into a more respectable castle. At first, he and Death were its lone dwellers, but soon it became a beacon of light for the creatures of darkness roaming the land, and then for the few humans who understood what vile being God truly was, and wished to follow the newly-christened Dracula.
That's when he discovered that the castle had a mind of its own.
It could not think, not in concrete words; it was not like Death, who would bow to his ear and whisper his thoughts in a clear, concise manner. No, it was more like music resonating in Dracula's chest, tendrils wrapping around his mind, a presence felt like a phantom hand on his shoulder. Dracula knew everything that happened inside the walls of the castle, because the castle would show him. Dracula knew when intruders were approaching, because his heart would be seized by a fist of fury. Dracula knew when his family was content, because warmth would seep through the bricks and windows.
The castle never left Dracula side. No matter how many times a Belmont or an ally would slay him, the castle rose back from the ashes to welcome its master home when the time was right.
Of all the creatures of Chaos, the bond between Dracula and his castle was the most abstract, and yet, one that tied them indissolubly.
Well, alright. How does Dracula/Castle (Dracastle?) work? :)
"DRACASTLE" ORIGMERLGSERKLGNERLMKSGN i'm adopting this ship name right now. Also WELL I'M GLAD YOU ASK, MY FRIEND <3
So to understand the ship you need to understand my vision of the castle, first. And to resume my vision of the castle: it's in the top three biggest Dracula simps next to Death and Isaac.
It's a creature of chaos, wich means, it's alive. Now it's not "alive" like anyone would be, be it man or beast. It doesn't have blood of it's own (i do like to think it absorbs and gain power from the blood of Drac's ennemies though >:3), it doesn't breath, and it's "mind" is very... abstract. In a way that is hard for a human mind to comprehend. But it is pretty much living, and it can show it in multiple ways (maybe portraits on the walls who's eyes follow you when you pass ? The feeling of unwelcomeness hunters feel when they enter the Castle ? the way it changes form everytime it comes back ?)
The Castle is seemingly tied to Dracula. It comes to life with him, and collapses when he dies. (and they both change appareance every 100 years) This "bond" they have is what allows Dracula to understand his Castle in a way that words cannot describe, to know every single places around it no matter the changes. He feels welcomed, like he's right where he belongs in this place. If the Castle had a body, it would be hugging Drac and pledge his allegiance to him 24/7. The Castle exist for him only and would never want another master. If it's even possible for it to happen lol (i also can imagine it sharing Dracula's feelings, wich means it would have loved Lisa and Adrian, and felt betrayed and started rejecting Alucard once he went up against his father. Making Al feel that intense feeling of "you're not welcomed here. go away." everytime he's in the castle <3 imagine being hated by your own childhood home smh)
So their "relationship" wouldn't be anything "physical", in every sense of the term. It's more of a "spiritual" kind of bond. Dracula understands his Castle, and his Castle understands him. They communicate, Dracula might even talk to it sometimes while letting his hand mindlessly wander on the walls... but the responses he'd get would be mostly "feelings". Feelings that sometimes, his mind translate as words, or images, in order to better understand them. (that's how visualize the thing: feelings, feelings everywhere. Dracula never feels alone in the Castle, because he has the Castle <3 When he grief, his Castle grief with him, while trying to comfort him somehow <3 No words. No physical contact. Just. Feelings. Intentions. <3)
I'm not sure i would call this "romance" though. Nor do I think they would fock (or do i ?). It's more of a sensual thing, more "poetic" than anything.
The Dark Lord sharing a very special kind of bond with a very special kind of creature made of pure chaos (just like him ?)... something that isn't quite romantic, nor a simple "master/servant" type of bond, but something else entirely... just, the concept <3
And that is how Dracastle would work. :3 Probably my least horny "ship" lmao (and the one i struggle to explain the most lol. it's more abstract than the others)
Hecula, Macula, Mactor, Walthias, and, finally, the one, the only: Dracastle. <3
bruh.
Hecula:
giant age gap? abuse of power imbalance? emotionl manipulation? why, you shouldn't have 💖
I don't know which angle I prefer more: Dracula psychologically beating down Hector to knock down his ego, Dracula being narcisisstically attracted to Hector (seeing him as his best project, or attributing all of his strength to him and how he raised him), or Dracula straight up going insane and using Hector to fill the hole left behind by Lisa's death, who cares about how horrified she'd be <3
and yet Hector leaves! He's strong enough to not give in to the psychological torture! That's my boy!
bonus: the sippy sip move Dracula makes <3
(yes, finally got my own screenshot of it :'D)
Macula:
the story of self acceptance both in the past and in the future, Mathias being mortified at seeing how insane and cruel he'll grow to be but knowing there's nothing he can do about it and Dracula looking back at the humanity he discarded and remembering how he used to be.
impeccable designs, both of them
tol dilf/smol pretty boy... well okay normal boy, but still :P
Mactor:
Hector would remind Mathias of Leon and I think it's very cute :)
Mathias would be the caring figure Hector thought Dracula would be.
Crispin Freeman <3
Walthias:
Walter deserves another pretty boy as a treat :P
oh Walter, you thought you could play with Mathias? Sike! He's four parallel universes ahead of you :P
Mathias canonically welcomes Walter into his body to become a vampire
Dracastle:
the castle is a creature of Chaos just as much as Dracula is and might be considered sentient, although not in a human way. One can imagine the castle giving comfort to Dracula and the two being attuned to each other :)
