The Whitechapel Museum of Folklore was not a giant place but had enough space for its many exhibits and a much larger crowd. Takumi was here for two reasons, his interest in the mythical and to see if they had anything useful on tsukumogami. The latter goal didn’t work out, something that he was used to, but the museum was still fascinating. He stood wide eyed at an exhibit about cryptids featuring articles, a video featuring various witnesses and skeptics, teeth that might (or might not) have belonged to the Altamaha-ha, and a blurry photo of the Nessy.
“Dude, the vampire one was so cool!”
Takumi turned around before realizing that the teenager was talking to his friend, neither noticing Takumi.
“Yeah, it was awesome”, the other said before walking through him.
Takumi lowered his eyes and frowned, he wasn’t expecting the two to be believers but the phasing was upsetting all the same. He needed to find a distraction, perhaps the vampire thing those two mentioned.
He saw a banner that said “Vampires: From Carmilla to Edward” and followed the arrow, giving a quick eye roll to the Edward part. It was a very in-depth exhibit though, covering everything from vampires as symbols to the deviations in the rules of being one throughout different media to the various mortal inspirations. He looked at an old laminated book that came from somewhere called Wallachia before realizing he bumped into someone.
“Sorry about that.”
