Truly I feel your in my core. “High functioning” is a lie and we all need help in our own ways, being high functioning and ‘not as bad’ as other autistic people is something my mother throws around a lot like she’s proud I’m ‘only slightly damaged goods’ compared to other people’s kids. I’m sorry you’re also going through this with no real direction or ways to look for help without being accused of making too big a deal out of this. We’ve never really spoken but you’re not alone if that helps?

I really relate to this. I was diagnosed as a child but everything done about it was kept secret from me until I figured it out on my own. I don’t know how you feel about dogs, but one of the things I’ve done to help as an autistic /adult/ is get on a waiting list for a service dog. maybe it’ll help you? if not thank you for sharing this, hang in there.

unfortunately not the biggest fan of dogs. and if i was, dad won’t let me or my siblings get a dog anyway. tho i do have a cat whos very attuned to me which helps a lot!

i have a lot of shitty thoughts but things ARE slowly getting better. i’ve applied for social security for example!! things are creeping along. slowly. its coming along. im just big aaaa
