She's so used to hearing cars drive up in the drive that she doesn't bother to look up when the rumble of an engine stops outside the bay doors. She doesn't even pay attention to the shuffle of feet near her or the towering shadow that's cast across the floor beside her. That is... until she's being hauled up bodily by strong hands and once her feet are planted firmly on the ground she's spinning, set on punching whoever's breaking her concentration when she's met with the sight of piercing blue eyes and a smile worth all the money in the world. Xe's hands cup each side of her face and he's kissing her, thumb stroking absently over high cheek bones and she's almost forgotten the garage is full of guys until she hears the cat calls. She breaks the kiss earlier than she'd planned, glaring at each and every set of eyes on her with the intent on firing the next person who makes a peep. Faces fall and they all turn back to their previous duties as Zoe grab's Xe's hand and leads him outside, pressing him firmly against the side of the building. "Hey there slick. Ya tryin' to ruin my reputation? Can't be meltin' my heart like that in front'a those guys." Her chastising is playful and she's glad her hands aren't too dirty because she curls her fingers into his collar and pulls him down for another kiss; this one complete with moaning she hadn't planned on and a shiver sent down her spine. Zoe might skip out early today. For reasons.2) At the cliff in the bed of Xe's truckThey both love it up here. For some reason or another, heading up the mountain and parking Xe's truck near the edge of the cliff so they can see the stars seems to be a perfect night for the both of them. It's freeing, in a sense, and Zoe knows that at this time of night, the only other people that might come up this way are teenagers looking to neck in their cars. Which isn't far from what Zoe's mind is intent on doing, except she packed some blankets to spread out in the back of the truck to lay on, and that's just what they're doing. The stars are pretty, but they always look the same every time they come up here, and she's more content to keep her eyes closed as her lips graze over his, down his jaw and across the pulse in this throat that she can feel quicken when she rubs against him. Not that her own isn't going just as fast with the way he holds her close, hands cupping her ass as he's kissing her shoulder, leaving little nips and bites along her skin. She could live in his kisses, curl herself up in them and be content to stay there forever.3) Lazy Sunday MorningXe has this habit. His true form doesn't wear clothes, obviously, so when he can, he stays as naked as possible. This isn't surprising to someone that finally understands because she knows he's a dragon, and Zoe can't complain, because his human form is a fucking AMAZING sight to behold. Needless to stay sleeping naked is a common occurrence in either of their homes now, just as it was before he told her he was 3,406 years old. So one Sunday morning, instead of waking up to the smell of pancakes and bacon, Zoe wakes up to feather-light kisses starting at the base of her spine. Her hair is in her eyes and falling down in long wavy tresses down her back and she pushes it out of her face looking back over her shoulder with a sleepy and content grin on her face. "Morning Zoe." She can feel the smile on his face."Mornin' babe," she answers, her voice rough with sleep. Her arms curl under the pillow and Xe continues to pepper her spine with kisses, moving to her shoulder blades and down her sides. Zoe doesn't know what she did to deserve this kind of treatment but she's not about to stop him. His breath is warm on her skin and there's goosebumps in the wake of every press of his lips. Once he's finally kissed every inch of her back, he's hovering over her, nuzzling into her neck with the tip of his nose tickling just behind her ear. "That feels amazin'," she tells him, turning just enough to catch his lips with her own. They don't leave the bed much that day.4) In True FormZoe loves that Xe feels comfortable enough to shift in front of her now. She knows she can trust him, as most people who saw a dragon wouldn't trust one as far as they could throw them, but what he looks like doesn't change who he IS. He's still HER Xe. So they go up to the cliff again, and she watches him strip down (okay, maybe that's her favorite part) and in the blink of an eye he's as tall as a two story house with blue and white scales that catch the sunset just the right way and GODDAMN he's beautiful. She waits until he lowers himself to his belly and she walks over, running her hand over the crest of his head and down the scales that cover his neck. It's still a strange feeling, not feeling the soft skin that was there moments before, but as time passes, and the more she goes with him, the more she gets used to it. She knows he wants to go fly, so she doesn't want to take up all his time. There's never any telling how far he'll go, or how long he'll stay gone, so she presses a kiss to his snout and one between his eyes. "Be careful baby. I'll be here when you get back." And she always is. Whether she's reading, listening to music or has fallen asleep in the truck waiting, she's always there. Waiting with a kiss to welcome him back again.5) Because She CanOne of the perks of being an adult, at least for Zoe, is finding someone she wants to be around for more than ten minutes, and for her that person is Xe. Walking out into her living room to see him sitting on her couch watching tv or grading papers from his classes is a sight she never thought she'd see. For the longest time she didn't want to, but that was before him, before she found out there was a reason people did this whole 'falling in love' thing. It's something that happens every time she looks at it. She falls just a little harder, a little farther, and it's a feeling she's never quite gotten used to. She's fresh out of the shower and she comes into the room where he's sitting, back against the couch, three or four stacks of graded and ungraded papers around him on the floor. He's comfortable, and she can tell by the blue scales that adorn his face and neck and the way his bright blue eyes are brighter than normal as he stares intently at the paper in his hands. Zoe crawls up on the couch behind him, not intent on being a distraction, but just wanting to be close. She kisses the back of his neck and wraps her arms around his shoulders, her chin resting at he crook of his neck. He's used to her behavior by now, so he doesn't get as distracted as he may once have. Her hand splay out across his chest, rubbing lightly from side to side and she can feel the bevel of the scales that have expanded onto his chest. It's still surreal sometimes, but she's okay with it. Another kiss to his cheek before he finishes reading the last of a paragraph and meets her lips downward decent with his own. "I love you." She tells him. It's not her trying to get anything, or start anything; she just wants him to know.
