Lately I've been feeling like I'm spreading myself too thin in various online pet games, there are simply too many of them and not enough time to play them all! I've been sort of avoiding Flight Rising for the past week, mostly because of the downtime and maintenance, but with the slowness and lag it's basically unplayable for me right now. I've been having more fun playing freakin' Lioden for a week. Yeah it's a simple game about breeding lions, but at least it's freaking playable.
Another game I've stepped back from is Felisfire. I still like it, but I'm not playing it as aggressively as before. I dunno why... I check up on the cats and do the dailies if I can remember. They released a new species, the Lycreon, which is something I want to like. I really do. But-- well look at it.
Maybe it looks kinda okay in the colors I chose for the preview. But why are its wings so stiff and flat? Actually the shading on the entire cat looks oddly flat, compared to previous species. Why is its belly so thin and caved in? A lot of the Felisfire cats suffer from skinny belly syndrome, and it bugs me, because it looks like they're starving. :/ And why is the pose almost identical to an existing species, the Igneo?
I'm not a huge Igneo fan either, but at least it has nicer shading and its wings aren't messed up. I remember seeing a previous Lycreon design that was scrapped, but in my opinion it looked so much more dynamic and badass:
Hot damn, son! Why didn't they go with this?? I would have killed for that amazing bat demon cat. But instead we get something really weak and lame. I'm quite disappointed, really. I guess I'll stay on FF for a little while longer, finishing up some breeding projects with Aquus and Scalae, and then put my cats in the cryo for a long break.
Meantime I've been considering joining Draconis Theory and its sister site Horse Eden. I've been looking for a good horse sim anyway, and naturally I can't stay away from pretty and professional artwork. Anyone out there who would recommend them?
