Does anyone have any headcanon first names for Count Dracula?
Brainstorming a figure skating au, and I like having full names on the Pinterest boards for these fs aus
I'm pretty happy with some first names for the sisters, but I don't have surnames for them if you have suggestions
Please let me know if I'm missing anything canon or semi canon, I'm trying to stick to book canon since I haven't seen any adaptations I don't think? It doesn't sound right, but I can only think of Hotel Transylvania and Hellsing Ultimate Abridged??? I gotta be forgetting something.
Obviously there's Vlad Dracula, but I do hesitate to evoke Vlad the Impaler or any versions of the Count I'm not so familiar with.
This season of Dracula Daily, I've been asking myself the question: When did Dracula first feed on Jonathan?
Jonathan never mentions being bitten, of course, but we know from later in the book that Lucy also has no memory of the event every time her blood is drained, so we can assume that vampire-bites include some amnesic effect. Also, Jonathan, being the stiff-upper-lip Englishman that he is, might not write such a thing in his diary, especially after May 31, when Dracula steals his extra paper.
Anyway, I've identified several possibilities (further discussion for or against each date under the cut). Tumblr, what are YOUR headcanons?
When did Count Dracula FIRST feed on Jonathan Harker
May 3- Jonathan reports queer dreams and a howling dog
May 16- "This man belongs to me"
May 28- Jonathan falls asleep on the sofa
An unspecified date in May or June- before Jonathan's first lizard-crawl attempt
June 29- "Tonight is mine"
Never- Dracula got his food elsewhere

May 3: Jonathan has not yet arrived at Dracula's castle. He spends the night at an inn, and reports queer dreams, as well as a dog howling all night outside his window. Though Jonathan blames the paprika, we know from Lucy that strange dreams are a side-effect of being bitten, that Dracula has a dog form, and that he can lure victims to their bedroom window while in animal form. Additionally, we know that Dracula first poses as a coachman to bring Jonathan to his castle, so it is possible that he actually intercepted Jonathan slightly early in the journey (while keeping himself disguised as a dog) This is perhaps not the most likely possibility, but it is nevertheless an intriguing one.
May 16- The Ladies attempt to feed on Jonathan, and Dracula busts into the room saying "This man belongs to me!" Jonathan reports falling unconscious, then awakening in his room partially undressed, his clothes folded but his watch unwound. In theory, Dracula almost certainly had the opportunity to take a little snack here, though he would likely have had to do so before putting Jonathan to bed, because Jonathan already placed the crucifix over the headboard on May 12.
May 28- Jonathan attempts to write some letters, Dracula burns the shorthand letter to Mina, while sending (or at least claiming to send) the note to Mr. Hawkins. Dracula then goes out for a few hours, and Jonathan falls asleep on the sofa, mentioning that he awakened when Dracula re-entered the room. Jonathan reports no dreams when he goes to bed, but, the Count still did have a potentially crucifix-free opportunity here.
Sometime in early-mid June. We go a while without diary entries here, but, if Jonathan doesn't remember being fed on and lacks paper, he may simply not be reporting it. We do know that by June 25, Jonathan is able to lizard-crawl down the walls to Dracula's room. It's possible he starting to turn and gain unusual powers (as we see with both Mina and Lucy later), though there still exists the more mundane possibility that Dracula's castle has climber-friendly footholds and Jonathan was simply neither brave nor desperate enough to try them until this point.
June 29. "Tonight is mine." This is the most obvious option- as we see the following day that Dracula is looking both youthful and bloated, with fresh blood on his mouth- he's clearly fed on SOMEONE and I doubt it was one of the Szgany workers. However, once again, Jonathan goes to bed praying, wakes up praying, and presumably still has the crucifix over his bed, which may have deterred Dracula from getting to him in his room. We also see Jonathan doing more lizard-crawling, get violent with a shovel, and run off into the woods.
There remains one final possibility, that Dracula never actually drank any of Jonathan's blood. Instead, he got all of his food from elsewhere, and all of Jonathan's symptoms later observed by the nuns were caused only by Dracula's gaslighting/emotional abuse, not by any vampiric/supernatural/physical injuries; though of course there was the physical toil of surviving in the woods for several weeks (which... would Jonathan have been able to do that without some vampiric powers of his own? Perhaps so, perhaps not.)
Note that I'm only asking about the FIRST time, and that choosing an earlier date does not necessarily negate the later ones.

VAN HELSING : Unlabelled and cisgender (he just wouldn’t care for labels) . From the Netherlands and possibly Scotland, has autism
DR . STEWARD : Gay and aroace, helian . From Britain and somewhere in East Asia, has insomnia, autism and obsessive compulsive disorder
RENFIELD : Androsexual and achellian (I may have spelt that wrong), pistolian and hypersexual . Possibly from Switzerland and England, at least somewhere from East and West europe, has biopolar 2, dysgraphia, borderline personality disorder ( fp : Dracula ) and hyperlexia (I couldn’t find a symbol for that 💔) — he has a bandage on his ear because he tried to rip it to look more pointy
After the novel Jonathan and Mina use the rest of their inheritance to change careers and found a small convalescence home, like one of those places you go to when you don't need the hospital anymore but you still can't quite be independent. During the First World War they become known for dealing with victims of shell shock bc as you can imagine they're good at it. Also when Van Helsing grows too old to manage himself he goes to live there and he is taken care of. There is something deeply compelling to me about imagining Van Helsing in his late 80s chatting it up with a bunch of wounded soldiers like tell me he would not thrive in this environment and tell me that the soldiers would not grow to love him.

1. Mina Murray/Mina Harker - beagle. - the most intelligent character in the novel, other than Jonathan the primary hunter of Dracula. Beagles are known well for their intelligence and ability to hunt.
2. Jonathan Harker - Labrador retriever. - A sporting and family dog, thoroughly charming and intelligent but understated to a point. Just like our dear friend Jonathan. Can spot red flags from a good distance, they however, can’t always act to protect themselves.
3. Lucy Westenra - Yorkshire terrier - charming, intelligent, earnest, would not deliberately hurt anyone and amiable. Just like our ingenue, Lucy.
4. Van Helsing - Dutch Shepard - a herding dog, somewhat parental, Dutch, clever and known to read signs and cues very well.
5. Arthur Holmwood - papillon - charming, upper class, ridiculously cute, and known for their good hair and most thorough innocence and good intentions.
6. Quincey Morris - German Shepard - a ranch dog, strong, steady, versatile, hard working, earnest and loyal to the end, just like our American cowboy.
7. John/Jack Seward - Affenpinscher - a German dog originally bred to kill rats, awkward looking, small, and hard to find in the 21st century. Some may consider them to off putting but if you utilized correctly a useful set of paws, or hands to have on one’s team.
8. Not technically in the polycule but he gets love here.
R. M Renfield - Basenji - an usual dog, known for being “barkless” or “voiceless” in dog terms, often wrongly perceived as lacking substantial will or helpless. This is in fact, untrue, rather than silent this dog “yodels” “sings” and “sirens.” Useful as hunting dogs as Renfield is, despite circumstances useful to our vampire hunting polycule/crew. Basenji often alert their owners of danger and send signals, albeit in no traditional way. What Basenji sound like.
Despite having centuries of experience with all those who have managed to get his trust and love for a night Dracula is a rather gentle lover, not out of dislike for more rougher kinks but rather it's just what he likes
With that said your going to have a blissful time with him as your first time lover, gentle caresses and adoring gazes slowly preparing you through teasing through your clothes and the occasional guide for you to grind against him, letting you get use to the sensation
Draculas soft, sweet and sensual, slow at he carefully plays with whatever he knows brings you pleasure whether that be your nipples or nether regions, observing you for each little gasp and expression knowing that this is the first time anyone has ever seen such vulnerable looks from you, not to mention the sounds that fuels his passion to please you, his darling will be absolutely smothered in progressively built up blissed for their first time that will only be leaving you hanging onto him for more love
