[AU] Fast Times At Raira Academy
It was their last year in high school. It was probably a wonder to the other students that Izaya had managed not to make it this far without getting himself severely injured despite how much he deliberately got on the nerves of Shizuo Heiwajima. However, it helped to have a friend who was an aspiring doctor, parkour and all else aside.
Classes for the day were nearly over and as the monotonous sound of the teacher's voice went on, Izaya stole a sideways glance at said aspiring doctor -- Shinra Kishitani. He wondered if the one person he might honestly call a friend was as bored by the lecture as he was. Math, despite being something Izaya was relatively good at, was not something he was all too concerned with. At this point in the day particularly, his attention would turn to the humans in the room rather than the subject at hand.
When at last the bell rang to indicate the end of the day, Izaya had his books gathered and in his bag before anyone really had time to notice. Hardly any more time had the chance to pass before he was standing at his friend's desk, passive expression replaced with his characteristic sly grin.
"I don't suppose you were any more fascinated by that than I was~ It always seems to be classes like this we have no choice but to take. But perhaps we could make the subject more interesting if we worked together~" he suggested. Perhaps it was just an excuse to spend time with the other boy, but that would be hard for even Izaya himself to know, for he had quite the intricate maze of walls up in and around his heart.
