Part 2 : His other pixies
As the days slipped away, the man in the Dracula cape simply watched as the pixie drifted from his grasp. He didn't reach out to learn her plans, where she might venture, or the emotions weighing upon her heart. Maybe the urge was there, maybe it faded into the background. Yet, the pixie held her share of this tale; she didn't offer the chance for his questions to surface. She just moved away. Though, truth be told, she didn't completely disappear. She remained, aimlessly wandering the forest.
She visited his place from time to time, contemplating whether to muster the courage to reopen their conversation, to take back the words she had released. But, carrying a heavy heart, she chose restraint. This path seemed the wisest, at least from her perspective. She clung to the conviction that if his yearning to connect or seek her held true depth, there lay numerous avenues for him to explore. Many roads he could tread. Yet, he didn't extend his reach. Thus, the truth lay bare – he really wanted her to leave. Perhaps, he awaited it with a blend of longing and acceptance.
Once more, the pixie returned to his dwelling, stealing a glimpse of how the man in the Dracula cape was faring. What she witnessed struck a chord within her; she saw new pixies enjoying conversing with the man. These pixies radiated a brighter light. They were larger than her and held an air of elegance she couldn't match. Their light appeared steady in comparison to hers.
The man in the Dracula cape seemed to relish the presence of these other pixies. He appeared to bask in their company, as if their essence brought him delight.
She wondered, did they come into the picture when she decided to step away? Or had they already been conversing even before she chose to leave? Could this be the root of his growing coldness and detachment? Had he already encountered other pixies with brighter lights even before her exit? As these thoughts churned within her heart, her tears flowed, carrying with them the weight of her emotions.
