basically, there's something regarding me and an old friend and i genuinely didn't realize that some things i said and did hurt their feelings, and while i understand why and genuinely feel like yeah, i could've done it differently (even though i was a bit distant because i was struggling a lot), i don't know… i guess it also is hurtful for me to have someone assume i did something on purpose? i'm never going to be and never have been the person to dodge accountability or deflect, but i do know who i am and what my intentions are. i don't know, but i think i gave them the best response i could and i just hope it doesn't go sideways. i hope this isn't too much

honestly if you apologized, i think that’s all you can do. i don’t have much context as to what happened, nor will i ask for it, but i think if you hurt them, even by accident, apologizing is the responsible and right thing to do. i do think you can explain the reasoning behind your actions, especially if it was an accident and you didn’t mean to hurt them, double especially if you were struggling. people should be understanding of that. however, after you take accountability and explain your reasoning, it is up to the other person to decide what they want to do. in the meantime, i think you should change your actions, whatever they were. show you’re sorry, that’s important too. but aside from that, it really is up to the other person to decide what they want to do.
