Have you ever met any figure skaters you really liked? What did you ask them? Or would if you've never met any? I'm meeting Kristen Moore-Towers and Dylan Moscovitch on Tuesday and I'm so excited even though I'm not a pairs fan, I'm a bigger fan of single skaters and I met Joannie Rochette in 2011 but it was so brief, didn't get to ask any anything =(
i think the longest conversations i've had with any skaters was with taka and the shibutanis. it was back in 2011 and i congratulated them on their world medals, told alex that i loved reading his blog on icenetwork (and then maia told me to stop inflating his head, lmaooo). i asked taka what he planned to do for new programs, told him i loved his free fallin' ex and suggested he bring it back (he actually did, later, but i'm not gonna take credit for it haha). stuff like that. skaters are just like normal people really. i also met haruka once when she was training at the DSC and just kinda asked how her training was going and wished her luck at her next comp.
i guess if i got to meet any more skaters i'd just say more stuff along those lines, tell them i like their work, ask them what new programs they have in mind/what kind of music they'd like to skate to, are they gonna go on vacation now that the long season is over, good luck in the future, etc. if you don't know much about pairs, maybe you could think of some pairs-related questions for kirsten and dylan? they seem nice, i bet they wouldn't mind answering.
