     The priestess had been wide awake that night. It wasn’t the usual thing that would keep her up, no, it was something different. She just couldn’t find a way to do it. She looked out over the banister of her house, watching the people go by on night walks and whatever have you-- Until her eyes caught someone different. She hadn’t seen them before.

     Without hesitation, Shion left her quarters and out the door. It didn’t take her very long to track down this person again and make a beeline towards them. ‘ Who are you, and what is your purpose for being here? ‘ She asked quickly.

Steve had not-so-subtly kicked Robin out of the apartment that morning, who'd only been half offended considering they had plans of their own with a cute girl from one of her classes, and had got to work pretty much the second they were gone. But it was worth it, considering their apartment had truly been transformed. It wasn't easy but he'd managed to move all the furniture from the living room back into the bedrooms, the table he'd lugged up into the apartment now sitting in the middle of it - tablecloth draped over it with a candle lit, a bottle of wine and a basket of bread. Two chairs he'd also lugged up on either side. The lights were turned down low and soft music was playing in the background.

He'd even gone so far as to have rose petals leading from the door to the table, his own special touch, and well - it all looked good to him. He just hoped it would be good enough for her. She deserved this and so much more. He whirled around when he heard the door to the apartment open, instantly going to greet her - soft smile on his face. "Hi beautiful, Happy Valentine's Day." Quick kiss. "I, uh, I have a surprise for you." He took her hand, carefully leading her to the living room - quietly clearing his throat once they got there. "I know it's kind of ... a lot. But back home - back before ... when we were stupid and oblivious we used to go Enzo's all the time. Like it was nothing, like it didn't mean anything." Nervous little shrug. "And well, we can't exactly do that now ... so I thought ... I'd bring Enzo's to you."

Steve was sprawled back against his bed, absentmindedly throwing a baseball - leftover from when he still played - repeatedly up in the air and then catching it, Bloom was seated somewhere on the floor. He wasn't entirely sure what she was doing, but well - he trusted her. "So -" He started, concentration still on the baseball. "I was thinking, uh - do you have plans for tomorrow? Because I don't - yeah, King Steve doesn't have a date for Valentine's Day, can you believe it?" He let out a scoff, rolling his eyes. "And so I was wondering if you wanted to do something? We could just like hang out, grab a bite to eat at Enzo's or something." The best shrug he could manage was offered, another toss of the ball into the air.

If he was anyone else it might seem like he had ulterior motives here, but truly he didn't. He wanted something to do tomorrow besides moping about being lonely and single and spending the day with Bloom just felt right. They'd just be two friends hanging out, just like always.

Bloom's concerned shout did nothing to help the ringing in Steve's ears and the pounding in his skull and he kind of wanted to tell her to take it down a notch. But how was he supposed to do that when God knew how scared she was tonight? The whole town had to be terrified right now, he couldn't ask her to tone that down. He did his best to offer a nonchalant little smile, tried to shrug even though apparently even that hurt to do. "It's ... not as bad at it looks?" He offered, even though he knew damn well that was a lie and it was in reality probably worse than it looked. "Look Bloom, I'm fine really and you shouldn't be out tonight. Let me walk you home or something?"

He'd offer to drive her but his car keys were technically underneath the mall forever now and the paramedic that had looked him over had said absolutely not to driving himself home. (You can get a ride home, can't you kid? Call your parents. He didn't have the heart to tell her his parents haven't been home since May.). The poor Beemer would be stuck in the parking lot for a while.
