One Direction Fans Create #DragMeDownDay To Showcase Support For The Boys

Remember those pretty awesome One Direction fans who ran that pretty awesome No Control project and got the album track to the top of the iTunes chart and kickstarted a bit of a phenomena?

Well, they’re back with a vengeance and this time, they’re promo-ing the heck out of One Directon’s first single as a four-piece, ‘Drag Me Down’, in order to give it maximum exposure and give one huge impact.

Not content with the fact that the song was number one across the globe, fans are keen to show the boys exactly how much they mean to them, with August 16th [that’s today] being dubbed ‘Drag Me Down Day’ and tasks within the campaign being divvied up depending on who your fave member of the band is.

Pretty clever, eh? We reckon we might incorporate that in the office.

So, if you’re late to a party, here is a breakdown:

First up, everybody needs to be listening to Drag Me Down all day today on Spotify to get it to the top of the Spotify charts.

Then, if Harry Styles is your fave, you are in charge of getting the song played on the radio by tweeting/ calling/ texting stations across the world to request the smash hit song.

Louis girls have been given the task of keeping the hashtag #DragMeDownDay trending all day long, worldwide, on Twitter.

If you prefer a bit of Niall then you need to have Drag Me Down open on multiple YouTube tabs, refeshing every three minutes to get the count up.

Liam fans are in charge of Shazam!, with them having to use the app on the song all day long.

And of course the fans haven’t forgotten Zayn Malik, with Zayn girls being told to pick a task and get involved.

Nice one, guys.

So far the day has been an almighty success, with Team Louis doing a particularly good job at keeping the tag trending with these brillz tweets [and a little help from the other Teams, of course]:
