“So, let me get this right, you want me to be a stand in to make the person you like jealous?”
A fierce nod comes, and Jongdae suddenly grabs the other’s hand. He hasn’t known him long, only for the last few minutes or so while he’d been hiding from a specific person. The attractive young barista with the dazzling eyes had been giving him extra whipped cream on his coffees for the last few weeks, as well as a lingering smile that lasted longer than necessary. It made the young man’s heart nearly burst from his chest and his cheeks burn with shy embarrassment as he accepted his drink and ran like a bat out of hell, but Valentine’s Day was closing up on him and he knew it.
Even so, the day he’s finally gained the courage to ask them out, he’d noticed that same smile be given to a young female who’d been in line behind him, and his heart burned with crushed and petulant jealousy. So, what better way to get back at them than to try a little jealous acting of his own? Hopefully the man said yes; he hadn’t said no so far, and the look of pleading on Jongdae’s face was evident as he now grasped at the other’s palm with both hands.
“Please?” He whispered quietly, peeking back over to see that smile again be given to the girl who was now blushing like a teenage schoolgirl. It made him ache with unpleasant envy. “I’ll pay you back somehow, I promise! If you need me to do the same, I gladly will! You don’t have to kiss me or anything if you don’t want, or if you want that’s fine too–” he flushed, embarrassed that he’d been going on for so long. Shaking his head, he tries again. “I won’t be mad if you say no, so…what’ll it be?”
