My totally objective™ ranking of the top 5 Dragon Ball boyfriends
5. Gamma 2: Ok this might be biased, but listen. Not only is he adorable, he's a massive goofball, and he's strangely charming. He'd want to be your hero SO badly, and show off to you any chance he could. He's also the kind of guy to constantly brag about his partner to anyone who will listen.
4. Super Broly: The goodest boy, would absolutely melt upon getting used to receiving affection. His attempts at courtship would be clumsy, but they'd be so so sweet. This is the kind of man who'd give you basically an entire garden of flowers he picked once he heard it was a romantic gesture. He means well
3: Ginyu: Villainy aside, tell me he wouldn't be an awesome boyfriend. I could totally see Ginyu being the kind of guy who when he falls he falls HARD, you'd be all he could think about. Not that that would ever affect his job! Also you get the Ginyu force as built in friends, honestly he's the best you could do with the villains. No contest
2: Piccolo: He's smart, he's tall, he's sexy. What more could you want? He would be INCREDIBLY awkward at romance, like he'd have zero clue what he was doing, but it'd be so endearing and adorable. You'd have this man BLUSHING.
1: Yamcha: LISTEN he might be the butt of the joke a lot of the time. But you know what else he is? Adorable, a hopeless romantic, and devoted. Super did a lot to nerf his hotness (which let's be real it nerfed EVERYONE'S hotness), but he'd treat you so right. Spoil you absolutely rotten! And if you're a fighter? He'd find that so sexy, but also worry SO much about you. He also never cheated on Bulma. That was the dumbest decision Toriyama ever made.
Daishinkan arrives in the 7th universe for another Bulma feast to sample human food.
And there he encounters a sleepy reader coming from university/work (they were brought by a wildly vibrating Goku), who mistakes Angel for a child, takes him to the children's area, and unexpectedly falls asleep himself in a comfy poufy.
When Whis finds his father, Daishinkan is just having fun: he's drinking juice and coloring coloring books, having a "this is the best day off ever" mood
I have no idea if this is a request, or not or just idea but this idea is so cute 😭 Daishinkan is used, to everyone being afraid of him or speaking to him with respect (like how everyone was with the omni king) only to encounter reader, who has one of the warmest personalitys to him cause they think he’s a kid, a small part of me feels like he’d kinda play into it, giving subtle hints to see how long it would take before they realise.
Categorizing some of the dragon ball characters into: would crumble if someone pretty flirted with them, and the ones who can ACTUALLY flirt back (this is assuming they figure out you're interested)
After a boozy night with the girls, you awake in the middle of the night to find an alien has crash landed in your back garden. Prince Vegeta, a lone wanderer who is looking for more of his kind and a planet to take over, is a rather hostile and angry alien who plans on destroying man kind and settling down on earth. However, with the help of friendship and slow romance, things begin to change.
(this is a slice of life modern slow burn romance between the reader and vegeta.)
orginally on ao3
AN: i plan on making this a series of sort but this will be the main story. It will sort of run similar to a slice of life anime but there will be some action in the later parts. This is more focused on show burn romance at the minute. there may be side stories and stuff like that so feel free to make suggestions!!

It was a night like many nights when you were stumbling home after being out with the girls. You had two best friends; Bulma and Chi Chi who you often went out for drinks with and tonight was no different than the other. Sometimes, Bulma’s boyfriend would be there, Yamcha, but he appeared to be at a martial arts tournament and wasn’t going to be attending any drinking sessions with you and the girls. It was fine though; it was nice to just have a night with your two best friends. The three of you often went out for ladies drinks at a local cocktail bar and did some dancing and flirted with some boys.
It felt good not to be the only single one out of all your friends like you had been most of your life because Chi Chi would often join you in longing for a boyfriend. Bulma didn’t make it better; often flirting with Yamcha when he was here and bragging about how wonderful it is to have a handsome man to help you around the place. You were jealous because you wanted a boyfriend. Not as jealous as Chi Chi was; she had a fiery spirit and wanted to be a wife. She, like Yamcha, was a martial arts expert and probably was one of the better ones you knew but she was also doe eyed over the idea of getting married.
You weren’t sure how you felt about marriage. Chi Chi and Bulma shared the same thoughts that it would be good to get married but you often felt unsure but if something was clear, it was that you wanted a boyfriend.
It was one of those nights where you were stumbling home, grabbing your keys out of your bag and very clumsily trying to put the keys in the door so you could open it. You didn’t make the effort of being quiet about it either; it wasn’t like you were coming home to someone so it didn’t matter if you kicked your shoes off and watched them slam into the wall. You had a cat to come home to; but she would probably be sleeping upstairs somewhere. Your head was on another planet though; thinking very much about boys at this moment of time.
“Shit…the stairs…” You mumbled to yourself as you started to stumble up them to go to your bedroom. Inside, you were greeted by a cat who was sleeping very soundly on the bed. Even drunk, you knew not to disturb the cat so you got into your night clothes and very carefully crawled into bed. Due to being slightly intoxicated, it made it so much easier for you to fall asleep.

Crash!
You jolted up in the night to hear the sound of a crash in the garden. Getting out of your bed, you ran over to the window only to peer outside. You were met by many lights streaming in through the window. It looked like there was a light show going on outside and you were ready to investigate it. Problem was that you were still really drunk so it took you a moment to get out of your bed. You took the time to put on your slippers and grab your phone before leaving your bedroom.
Walking downstairs, you couldn’t help but notice the commotion that was going on outside as things began to clutter and smash about which made you quicken your step as you headed towards the back door through the kitchen. The place you had was modest; it wasn’t anything massive or anything as it was just enough.
Advancing to the backdoor, you saw what the commotion was and you almost couldn’t believe your eyes. Sliding the back door open, you ran out to verify what it was you thought you saw.
In the middle of your moderately sized garden, sat what looked like a some sort of space pod. It was a small dome looking machine that had it’s door torn open as if someone struggled to get out. You peered inside to take a better look only to then hear what sounded like your own house door being slammed open.
You turned around and the thought hit you hard; whatever it was that landed is now in your house.
Horror ran through your body and the possibility of having someone or something potentially dangerous in your house frightened you. You grabbed your phone and as soon as you could registar what was going on, you were calling the police to report a home invasion. You decided to leave out the potential truth that whatever it is that just came into the house is from another planet.
You were advised not to enter back in the house but curiosity got the better of you. Whatever this thing was… it wasn’t human. It wasn’t from earth and the possibility of potentially making contact with an alien was enough for you to enter into the house. You ignored their request and entered back into the house. It was quiet. You could almost swear there was no life in the house other than you and you were beginning to think that there was nothing there. You looked around every nook and cranny in the house about the possibility of someone else there but nothing led to that conclusion. Maybe it was the wind? Maybe whatever was in the pod left the garden? Maybe Bulma was playing a prank on you. After all, she did love messing with bits of tech that you had never heard of so her having some sort of alien looking pod wouldn’t surprise you.
You began to feel a wave of embarrassment over the idea that it could be a prank and you called the police over nothing.
You went to sit outside the front door for when the police arrived but kept an ear out for any more commotion. When they arrived, they investigated the home and still…nothing. The worst part was when you went to show them the pod that was outside, you took them through the house and into the garden and…
The pod had disappeared.
With no validity to your claims, there was nothing the police could do. They told you it was probably an attempted break in but nothing came of it. Unfortunately it wasn’t “serious” enough for them to investigate any further and they told you to call if there were any more break ins.
When they left, you felt exhausted but at the same time, you couldn’t sleep. You decided the best course of action would be to camp out downstairs and maybe put a film or something on to keep you awake. While the police were convinced it was just an attempted break in, you were not as convinced. Where was the pod??? It can't just disappear out of nowhere.
You eventually settled downstairs with a torch on and a movie playing but you weren’t paying attention to it. Between drifting off and moments of waking up, you were beginning to wonder if maybe you just imagined it. Maybe you didn’t see a pod or maybe Bulma was messing with you as you had begun to suspect.
It was at that moment you decided to call Bulma. It took a few moments before a very tired and angry Bulma answered the phone.
“Y/N!” She exclaimed through the phone, “Do you know what time it is? I’m trying to sleep off some of this alcohol,”
“Haha, very funny Bulma,” You responded, shifting in your seat, settling your head against the sofa, “Trying to sleep off the alcohol? Did you get Yamcha to do all that for you?”
“What? I have no idea what you are talking about???” She sounded confused, “Yamcha is still away at a competition. I just got home an hour ago and I am trying to sober up. You still sound drunk?”
“Competition my ass!” You exclaimed through the phone, wishing she would just fess up, “Yamcha put a weird looking pod thing in my garden right? I know you like messing around with new bits of tech but-”
“What pod? I don’t understand what you are even talking about?” She was now more awake and becoming quite frustrated with you, “I have no clue what you are talking about-”
“You do! Just admit you got Yamcha to-”
It was then you heard noises on the other side of the house that jolted you up.
“Ugh. Whatever, Y/N. I’m done with-”
“Bulma…” You whispered, slowly getting up and looking towards the door that led into the hallway with the kitchen. Someone was there. Someone was in your house, “If-If you did get Yamcha to break into my house…please tell me now,”
“...No…” She went silent, likely hearing the fear in your voice. You heard rustling on her end, “Just…Did you call the cops?”
“I did…” You were slowly advancing towards the door, “They…couldn’t find anything,”
“Okay okay… shit,” You heard more rustling on her end before she spoke again, “Just…get outside the house and stay on the phone. I’m on my way,”
“Okay…” You could do that. You could get outside the house so you moved towards the door and into the hallway. It was then you saw a shadow. The shadow was coming from the kitchen and you realised something; you had to move past the kitchen to get to the door, “ Bulma…I’m gonna put my phone in my pocket but I won’t hang up,”
“Okay… see you soon,”
You carefully put your phone in your pocket, locking it so you wouldn’t accidentally hang up the phone. You moved slowly and quietly past the door. You didn’t want to look into the kitchen but part of you wanted to look inside. The pod that disappeared was still stuck in your mind and you had to know exactly what you were dealing with. To give into a curiosity, you stood next to the kitchen door and peered through the crack to see who was inside.
It surprised you what you saw. You were expecting to find green men inside but instead there was…a man. Well, he looked like a man. A perfectly normal human was standing in the middle of your kitchen looking around for…something. You didn’t get it. So was it just an intruder? The pod was a distraction while the man snuck into your home to steal stuff?? You didn’t get it. He seemed to have a headset that he was fiddling around with, looking frustrated by the piece of tech he was wearing. It looked like something you would see in a futuristic movie.
You knew you should have made an escape at that moment but you couldn’t move. You were glued to the spot trying to figure out what he wanted. His clothes didn’t seem of this world either; looking more and more like an ancient warrior with armour on.
Weirdly enough, it was then you noticed something that you probably should have noticed straight away. He had a tail.
“Okay what the fuck,” you mouthed more to yourself than anything. So he wasn’t human. He looked human apart from the tail. If you hadn’t seen the tail then you would have just assumed this was a normal break in but it wasn’t. Heck, the tail moved on it’s own like a cat or a dog’s would so it wasn’t fake either. How the hell do you explain this?
“Y/N…”
You could hear Bulma over the phone calling you but you were too busy being fascinated by this thing’s tail.
The downside was that it was so silent that the phone could be heard ever so faintly from the kitchen that whoever this thing was turned in your direction only for the scanner that he was wearing was lightening up. Shit. He knew you were there. It had to have been some sort of heat detecting scanner or something. It was so dark you didn’t get a chance to properly look at him but you knew that standing by the door would lead him to you.
You decided to make a break for the door. Moving as quickly and as quietly as possible before reaching out for the handle and…shit. The door was locked. You left the keys in the living room when you went to camp out there. In fear, you had forgotten to take the keys and this alien was advancing towards the kitchen door as you could hear it from where you were. Good thing the stairs were nearby so you snuck to make a break upstairs.
All you could think was… what did this thing want? Was this an accidental landing? You had come to the conclusion that this was most likely some alien invasion type deal but why come alone? The pod seemed big enough for only one other person and while this alien did seem a little smaller by stature (not that he was taller than you, baring mind) it couldn’t have been possible for multiple aliens to come out of the pod. Or was it? Was this a clown car situation?
You snuck back into your bedroom and panicked as you heard footsteps coming up the stairs. Okay, he knew you had spotted him so now what? You could still hear Bulma faintly on the phone checking if you were okay but you couldn’t answer. You had to quickly devise a plan to escape.
The bed! You decided to hide under the bed. There was no time to think about it as you crawled under the bed and hid there. You didn’t even have time to think about how scared you were or how much you were shaking. The possibility of a first contact with an alien also didn’t hit you either. All you were concerned about was not being killed by whoever this was.
You saw him come into your bedroom. Your hand reached for your mouth to hide your breathing as you watched. You were startled when you heard his voice. You thought, at first, he was talking to you. However, he seemed to be conversing with someone on the device he was wearing. It must be a multi purpose device because it now purposed as a transmitter. The language wasn’t human. It wasn’t English for sure but it wasn’t human either. You couldn’t make out a word he was saying. It was then you panicked; remembering there was a sensor on the headset and he was two seconds away from you.
Shit. You had to do something fast. You had to escape back downstairs and into the living room. To your surprise, he left the bedroom to go down into the hall. It was your moment to quickly roll out from under the bed and back out the bedroom. You looked into the hallway and noticed the other bedroom had been opened.
This was your chance to make a break for it. Quickly and quietly, you moved downstairs. When walking past the kitchen, you went in and grabbed a weapon just in case. The frying pan hanging on the wall would do. You grabbed it before moving out into the hallway again to head towards the living room. It was pretty much silent in the house which was either good or not good. Either way, you went into the living room and quickly grabbed the keys before turning and heading to the door and then….
“Y/N! I’m just heading in”
You didn’t have a chance to register Bulma’s voice over the phone because something worse caught your attention. There you came face to face with the invader and it was for the first time you got a good look at his face. The scowl could have killed you right there and then and the device he was wearing only covered one eye with a transparent green. Before anyone could make a move, you raised the frying pan and….
“Y/N!”
Bulma shouted through the door as your frying pan collided with the man’s head. You hadn’t intended to hit him hard or anything but just enough to buy you time. It worked! He stumbled back against the wall only for you to push past and run to the door. You fumbled with your keys only to open the door and see a rather annoyed looking Bulma standing there.
“Y/N, I have been trying to talk to you over the phone! Do you know how scared I was that you were killed?”
No time for Bulma’s as you turned around and… he was gone again! Actually, the only evidence he had there was a device laying on the ground.
“Y/N, are you listening to me? Just what’s going on?”
“Bulma, I don’t have time to explain but I think…” You quickly stepped outside and shut the door, “Bulma, remember I was rambling on about a pod?”
“Yeah, something about Yamcha putting a pod in your garden? You seemed pretty pissed off. Mind explaining more about it?” She enquired, becoming slightly more concerned by the minute.
“Well, after getting home and falling asleep, I woke up to the sound of someone in the garden as well as a bright light. I went outside and saw this pod. I called the police, just in case and then the pod disappeared and they couldn’t find anything. I thought maybe you got Yamcha to play a prank on me which is why I phoned but then I saw him.He looks human but he has a fucking tail Bulma,” You felt frantic, running out of breath trying to explain what you saw but Bulma reached out for you.
“Okay, how about you show me where the pod was and maybe we can start making sense of this-”
“But Bulma, it’s gone now! I can’t-”
“Okay well maybe instead we can try and see if it was moved. Maybe when you saw it, it got moved. Maybe Mr Extraterrestrial moved it,”
You nodded before looking back inside the house, “I….He disappeared. I hit him with the pan and I thought It would buy us time. He left that behind…”
You pointed to the headset that sat on the ground. Bulma stepped in the house only to lean down to grab it. It was then she put it on and…
“Wow! This is so cool,” She turned to look towards you, “It’s in another language. I don’t know what language it is but it looks like some sort of heat ray or something,” She seemed excited by the prospect of alien technology which didn’t surprise you. She was always very technical. You both went into the kitchen and then into the garden. The Pod had left a crater in the ground which you hadn’t noticed before. It wasn’t a huge crater but it was definitely there. You looked around to see if it was hidden anywhere but you didn’t have much in your garden to hide it by.
“I…It was here…where the crater is,” You said, pointing to the ground. She went over and touched the dirt before turning back to you.
“The ground is warm. Something was definitely here. It’s a really chilly night,”
You were glad she believed you. She looked back at the house before sighing, “Whoever this is, he’s likely still in your house. I don’t know where he would be but it doesn’t hurt to look. If he’s good at evading the police then it’s probably best we just find him and sort this out ourselves,”
This was such a dumb idea, you thought, but the poice weren’t exactly helpful earlier so there really was nothing you could do. You just wanted to know where the pod disappeared to as well. So, you sucked in your fear and nodded your head.
“Fine. Let’s stick together though”
That was that. Bulma and yourself ventured back into the house. Once again, it was completely silent and you both agreed to keep looking together. You both looked for a good ten minutes without any luck. Bulma asked if there were any crawl spaces and there wasn’t any to your knowledge.
By the time you both stopped looking it was starting to become morning and you had both exhausted every cupboard and every hiding space. You were worried that Bulma was starting to not believe you but it somewhat helped that you had the sensor. Eventually, you made Bulma coffee and sat down with her in the living room.
“Maybe he escaped. If you hit him hard enough, he might have gotten scared and ran off,” Bulma suggested. You could see she was trying to make you feel better.
“I don’t know. Maybe. I just don’t feel comfortable here while I don’t know for definite,” You admitted.
“Well, I’ll tell you what,” Bulma put down her coffee, “How about you come with me and we can go pick up Yamcha. I have to go across to the next city to get him anyway. When we come back, we can camp overnight and see if anything happens. Perhaps I can convince Chi Chi and Yamcha to join us. The worst that happens is that we don’t find anything but we may be able to find who this person is,”
“If he’s a person,” You reminded her, “And yeah, I find I’d prefer that. The sooner I know if my own house is safe, the better,”
“Good. Well, we will need to start making our way over to where I agreed to pick up Yamcha,”
You nodded and went to grab your keys. Anxiety was thick in your stomach in that moment. All you wanted was to find the alien and feel safe. However, maybe some time out of the house would do you some good.
a/n: the chapter was getting a lil long so I had stop it there ;p; not much action in the first chapter but the second one will have that (and vegeta will actually make a proper appearence ;;)

It had taken half a day to successfully pick up Yamcha from the competition. He hadn’t won but he wasn’t a sore loser about it which was nice to see. Bulma immediately explained the situation to him on your behalf with you interjecting every now and then. He didn’t take much convincing; he was totally for the idea of camping overnight at your place to capture a spooky alien. You asked the neighbour if it was okay they looked after your cat for that day too as it was something you often did when you were going away for a long time. Your neighbour was a lonely older lady so she was really happy to look after your cat.
You tried phoning ChiChi that moment to ask if she wanted to join in but she wasn’t picking up either you or Bulma’s calls. It was very strange; ChiChi wasn’t like that and in any other circumstance, Bulma or you would be going over to her place to see what was wrong but you decided not to bother her. Maybe there was an emergency or something she needed to tend to which meant she wasn't able to pick up the call. Or maybe she was dreadfully hungover from the night before. You were surprised you weren’t but all the chaos that has happened since last night probably has made things a lot better in that aspect. Apart from a mild headache (and whether that was alcohol induced or because of what was currently happening was anyone’s guess) you were perfectly fine.
In fact, this whole scenario was kind of exciting if not terrifying. The possibility of contact with an extraterrestrial was something that crept into your mind every now and then. No one had ever been able to prove that they had found one successfully so you could be the first person.
On the way back to your place, Bulma stopped at the store to grab “essentials” which really just meant alcohol and snacks. In her words “If we are hunting an alien, we might as well have a little fun and be a little loose about it”. Bulma was a great sport about the whole thing. If this had been with any of your other friends, they would have laughed this situation off as being some kind of silly prank but Bulma seemed to be excited over the idea of meeting actual aliens. She kept going on about the possibility of being able to examine alien technology She was definitely into her tech. Yamcha was just happy to help out because he also kinda felt excited about aliens but at the same time got a slight kick out of possibly being able to protect Bulma and you if the alien was hostile.
Now with booze and snacksin the car, it was time to head back home. Part of you was a little bit afraid of what you would find if you went home. You needed to get out of the house yes but you knew you had basically left the alien in the house with the door locked.
Oh well. Sacrifices were made and all that.
Bulma parked outside of your house and you immediately made your way to the door in fear of what you would find. Opening the door and stepping inside….nothing seemed off. You went into the living room and then the kitchen and nothing seemed out of place. Huh. Maybe the alien wasn’t here after all. Surely, you thought to yourself, if you were an alien trapped in a home then you would try and escape right? You thought about it for a moment as Bulma and Yamcha took the shopping in.
“You okay, Y/N?” Bulma asked, settling down a bag that clinked with glass bottles in it.
“No no I’m fine it’s just…” You thought about it for a second, “I was expecting a riot when I came home. Maybe it’s not here anymore…”
“Maybe so. Let’s just make sure though. I don’t wanna leave you by yourself until we are sure,” Bulma said, before turning to yell at Yamcha for something related to the shopping. You couldn’t help but laugh but then turned back to look at the house some more. You hoped that the alien had left.
-
Even if the alien had left, at least you were having a good time regardless. You didn’t necessarily feel like you were third wheeling Bulma and Yamcha either. You laughed when they argued (which they did a lot but it was usually over nothing and Bulma telling at Yamcha was always rather funny). You drank your fair share of alcohol too which meant you felt pretty buzzed.
You would have forgotten about the real reason why you are both there if it wasn’t for the little reminders that something or someone was in the house. Things had been misplaced; mostly food you thought you had. A lot of the food that you knew you hadn’t eaten was gone now. This to you was proof that the alien was still in the house or at least rats that you didn’t know about.
At one point in the evening, you got up to go to the bathroom. Up until now, in case of an attack, you had been going up in pairs but Bulma and Yamcha had dozed off. You didn’t want to wake them up and in terms of alien sightings, the night had been uneventful so far. Maybe there was no alien here (at least not anymore) and you had imagined that there was more food then there actually was. So, you got up and headed upstairs to the bathroom.
It was then that you were about to be proved wrong. You heard noises in one of the rooms. You heard shuffling around and immediately, you froze up. You couldn’t mistake it; someone was in there and was moving things around.
You wanted to call downstairs but what if they hid before you had a chance? There must have been some hiding place in this house you didn’t know of because how could someone avoid you even when you searched high and low. You were tempted to grab your torch from your phone but you decided not to in case you scared off this person like the first time.
You reached the room that the noises were coming from and peered into an open door and…nothing. It was the guest room and the cupboard door was open. You went inside after making sure the room was cleared only to go to the cupboard. You moved the clothes out the way and…
There was a hole at the back of the cupboard and in the wall.
You didn’t have time to even look in before it happened. Something grabbed you from behind and pulled you out of the cupboard. You let out a scream before you realised who it was. The alien. He was strong. For being almost as tall as him, he certainly overpowered you in strength. When you screamed, a hand was placed over your mouth. He growled something into your ear and it definitely wasn’t human. He was threatening you. He was probably telling you to shut up but it was too late because Yamcha and Bulma were making their way up the stairs.
There it was. A stand off between him and your friends. How lucky you were to be the captive in this scenario. He spoke again but directed it at Bulma. You didn’t understand what he was communicating with Bulma for until you saw what was in Bulma’s hand. It was the headset. He was probably asking for it back.
When Bulma realised what he was after, she glared at him before pointing at you, “Only if you give her back,”
He didn’t say anything. His grip on you tightened a little bit before he very reluctantly pushed you away. If it wasn’t for Yamcha catching you, you would have hurt yourself falling to the ground. He didn’t seem to care that he nearly hurt you as he practically stepped over you to grab the headset from Bulma. Putting the headset back on, he pressed a button on the side that let out a loud noise. It hurt your ears and you cried out, collapsing in Yamcha’s arms.
Then it stopped, and the weirdest thing happened.
“Finally, I can properly communicate with your earthlings,”
The alien was no longer talking in a different language. He was conversing in plain English which surprised you. You didn’t have the words to speak but it certainly piqued Bulma’s interest.
“Let me guess. It’s a translator of some sort as well as a heat detector,” Bulma didn’t seem all that afraid. Certainly not as afraid as you had been as you tried to stand up, “I had a little tinker with your headset and fixed it up after the little knock on the head,”
Instead of being impressed that Bulma knew what to do with an alien headset, he just scoffed, “Hardly impressive. Someone with a very primitive knowledge could fix these things up, woman,” He stepped away, “I don’t appreciate it being stolen from me either, especially by lesser beings,”
This alien sure was arrogant.
“What makes you so special then?” Yamcha appeared bothered by his attitude, “You got hit by a frying pan and left it there from what I heard,”
“She caught me off guard,” This alien was addressing you but didn’t bother to even look at you. Words were spoken with such malice, “I am a Saiyan and one of the most powerful Saiyans at that. I was sent on this planet to destroy it and claim it with another Saiyan,”
“W-What?” You finally spoke, “D-Destroy the earth? You can’t do that-”
Bulma appeared visibly quite frightened by that process. Yamcha was just angry. As soon as you were able to stand up on your own, Yamcha let go of you and stepped forward, “You can’t just come here and take over a planet because you feel like it,”
“Oh but I can,” His attitude was annoying you. Arrogant, cocky and little disregard for anyone else. God you felt the hate bubble up in your throat as you steadied yourself, “This planet will sell for a good price. You stupid earthlings are actually rather lucky to have this planet,” He squared up to Yamcha. How can a man that much smaller become that much taller by pure intimidation.
“There’s three of us and one of you,” Bulma reminded (albeit while being frightened), “And there are plenty of people out there who would be interested in dissecting an alien if we told them about you.
The prospect of being cut up and examined didn’t seem to bother the alien, in fact it made him grin, “Oh? Is that so, woman? Well, I should be shaking should I?”
He grabbed Yamcha by the neck and chucked him to the side. He demonstrated his strength as he practically flung him to the side like a rag doll. Bulma ran over to Yamcha to make sure he was okay. Yamcha was fine; nothing was seriously injured.
It left you at a standoff with this alien as you both glared at each other. This time, you had no frying pan.
“What?” The alien grinned at you, “Has the silly little earth woman lost her claws?”
You couldn’t do anything but there was one question on your mind. He mentioned the other Saiyan. There was more than one of them on earth currently and he demonstrated that he was more than capable of knocking people around.
“Y-Your ship…” You were terrified but you remembered something, “Where…It looked beaten up. Where did you hide it?”
“Y/N? Are you seriously asking about a-” Bulma began till the alien interrupted.
“Yes. I crashed it behind this pod,” Pod? That must be what they call homes where he is from, “I hid it by disguising it in the back,”
Oh. So not only did he have a translator, a heat detector, a transmitter… he now has cloaking devices. Geez.
“How are you going to find this other Saiyan?” You asked, curiously, “Seriously, earth is a massive place. I’m guessing you meant to land with this other alien, right?”
“It isn’t a concern to an earthling how I plan on getting anywhere.” He snarled but you appeared to be onto something. He has crashed. He has no way of finding this other Saiyan. Yes, he is strong to one guy but what about an army of people.
“You crash landed in my garden and have been living in my house,” You finally found your nerve, “Unless you have a way of finding this other Saiyan, you are stuck here,”
The room fell silent. Bulma seemed impressed by your analysis. The alien…not so much as he just glared at you.
“And what if I was? You are but a pathetic earthling to me. I could break you right now if I wanted to,”
You were afraid. Deadly afraid. He had strength (you wouldn’t deny that) and he was extremely hostile to humans as he wanted to destroy the human race but you had a small plan, “I…I don’t see why you can’t just… stay here till you fix your ship. We find the other… Saiyan??? Or whatever you called it,”
“Y/N?! What are you suggestion-”
“Shut up, woman,” The alien yelled at Bulma before turning his attention to you, “You wish to help me find the other Saiyan and fix my ship? What do you possibly benefit from such an offer?”
There you go. It was the moment that you revealed your brilliant plan that you literally came up with on the spot, “Y-You might change your mind. Human’s aren’t bad…” You got a glare from Bulma at that, “Okay we aren’t bad all the time. I can help you live on earth to find this Saiyan and then fix your ship. You will need a place to stay right? You already made a hole in the wall so you might as well have this room as your own until then…”
It was insane. You knew it was an insane idea. He was clearly hostile but you didn’t want to die.
“Hah! You are trying to convince me not to kill the puny people of this planet? Do you understand what earth is worth?” He was almost manically laughing at that. It wasn’t funny to you. Earth was your home. Although, he stopped to think about it for a second, “...I suppose you are surprisingly right about one thing. I need to find the other Saiyan and fix my ship…”
Oh. You thought it was impossible, “Come on. We aren’t that bad. My home can be your home till then,”
“And I happen to be one of the greatest technical experts on this side of Earth,” Bulma gleamed proudly. Oh, of course, any chance to prod at a spaceship and Bulma is all on it.
“Fine but not because I will change my mind because I won’t,” You felt your breath leave you. Finally, he at least agreed to stay. You didn’t want him to stay. This wasn’t ideal but it was better than death.
“Fine,”
—
It felt very much like a fever dream. You had an alien upstairs in the guest bedroom. You found out that he burned a hole behind the cupboard and into the wall as a hiding space. He had been raiding the fridge for “nutrients” as he put it. As the three of you had reached a stalemate finally, you all decided to leave him alone and let him get adjusted to the idea of sharing a house with a human.
“Yamcha?” Bulma spoke, taking a cloth to his face, “Are you okay?”
“Yeah… guy is just really strong,”
You came back into the living room. You had been making sure that your new lodger was comfortable but he seemed to just snarl and glare at you. He was very comparable to a small dog.
Angry and short.
“Y/N, you are insane,” Bulma said, putting the cloth to the side, “Before, you wanted this alien out of your house and now you want him to stay? What is wrong with you?”
“I thought if I prolonged him looking for the Saiyan, he wouldn’t destroy the earth,” You said, sitting down, “He has a name too. We spoke a little. He kinda just angrily spoke at me a little. His name is Vegeta,”
“I don’t care if his name is Captain Sparkleman or whatever,” Bulma wasn’t happy, “You don’t know what he’ll do when you are asleep. He could kill you,”
“I don’t think he will. I think he realised, as much as it bothers him, he needs me,” You said rather calmly, “He needs to repair his ship, right? Where is he gonna get parts if we are all dead? The earth is too big for one person to search longingly for another Saiyan,”
“You are way too calm about this. When ChiChi finds out-”
Speaking of the devil, your phone began to ring and it was ChiChi. Before you could, Bulma snatched your phone out of your hand and answered it for you.
“ChiChi, you will not believe what Y/N-” Bulma was cut off. It seemed as if ChiChi had something important to say over the phone. It lasted for a few minutes before Bulma spoke again, “Okay okay fine. I’ll be there,”
She hung up, throwing your phone back to you.
“Yamcha, you are staying here and not being injured. Y/N, come with me. We are going to ChiChi’,”
“Wait hold on,” You stood up and grabbed her wrists, “Are you gonna explain to me what that was about?”
She slapped your hand away before speaking, “Well, ChiChi couldn’t talk to us last night because during the night, a pod landed in her garden too,”
