Fire Drakes Quadrupedal sauropod-like dragons that are distantly related to the wyvern/griff clade. Their second set of limbs has become so rudimentary that they’ve become nothing but a set of shoulder spikes. Their ability to fly and breathe fire is due to organs that store gasses produced by their digestion. Their flight is ungainly, more like floating balloons that direct themselves via flapping their fins. Wild fire drakes are impressive creatures often used as heraldic symbols by many herds. They are immensely valuable as livestock guardians and war steeds if raised correctly when young calves. Tame wild fire drakes do not breed in captivity. Fire drakes are entirely herbivorous. They are naturally quite aggressive due to having to deal with many predators. Toxins build in their flesh over time so the older they get the more poisonous their flesh is. Calves are poison-free and a favorite meal of mid to large predators. Females are somewhat larger than males, tho males have larger horns. Females live in large herds with their young. Males tend to be solitary or form small bachelor herds that only interact with female herds for breeding.
