I think some of the hero omori characterization hangups I have splits off from the graveyard scene and whether you read hero’s breakdown as a revealing of character or a breaking of character.
like I can 100% see how one lands on “closed off seething ball of repressed emotion masked by a persona of charm and amicability” hero with the former angle there is for sure textual support. but his internal character being actually sincerely like that enough to earn his “universally loved” and “you will really miss him” descriptions beyond the surface level is important #to me
#omori spoilers#is what you do with intentionality more true to who you are than what unconsciously slips through?#like the question of whether you’re really defined by your worst moments#is one philiosophers much smarter than I have been discussing for 5ever#omori the game seeds this into all of the main friends very intentionally#and it’s up to the viewers at home to think it over and come to their own conclusions. resolve their own hopes#and like I said the former interpretation is a very reasonable angle to take.#(and it’s for sure hashtag more nuanced than this dichotomy I made up)#I just feel so strongly about the latter mattering that the former sometimes feels like an entire different guy to me#dragon words
