Fan Musing: Mythalâs Interest with Andraste = Flemeth as Vessel?
Okay, so I saw this post submitted to dragonageconfessions, and it got me thinking....
CONFESSION: Iâm like 50% sure of Morrigan being related to Andraste. Andraste only had daughters and it is mentioned in Origins that Flemeth only had daughters as well.
Just for funsies: If we entertain this idea that Morrigan is related to Andraste, and we know that Flemeth is the vessel of Mythal....
And, while I do not subscribe to the Mythal=Andraste theory, I do wonder: is there any connection, I wonder, between Mythal and Andraste?
While Andraste died in -170 Ancient, and Flemeth is said to be born in 3:00 Towers , we are left with about a 400-year period between Mythalâs (to quote the Flemmyâs daughter, Yavana) âpossessionâ of Flemeth and the death of the so-called Makerâs Bride.(See timeline I used for reference below the cut)But I wonder,if Flemeth in some way related to Andraste, did that influence Mythalâs reason for choosing her as a Vessel, making Flemeth a more favorable choice?
While, as stated before, I donât quite believe Mythal=Andraste, I do find myselfâif not entirely subscribing toâinclined towards the Solas=Shartan theory. (link is to @redthealienâs discussion on the topic)
Taking into account Mythal/Flemeth in DA:I stating, "I nudge history, when it's required. Other times, a shove is needed", one could easily infer that Mythalâs spirit would be, at the very least, interested in Andraste and her role as a leader in the First Exalted March. I personally can easily play with the idea that, as Mythal was all about justice and vengeance and Andraste was the victim of various tribulations, perhaps the Prophetess was spoken to by Mythal instead of the Maker.
It would hardly be surprising for Mythal to use Andraste to further her own ends, especially if Shartan=Solas and was therefore involved, and even if that meant the sacrifice of Andrasteâs lifeâI mean, just look at Mythalâs willingness to involve herself in the Inquisitorâs destiny, and without actually providing the assistance of her/Flemethâs own physical presence, despite the immense power she is known to have. (No doubt because her Vessel is still capable of dying, and her âbackupâ Vessel [Morrigan], was already involved.)
Anyway, itâs not even a solid theory, itâs just something Iâm musing about. But, I would love to hear your thoughts?
