Honestly, I canāt believe they just let us have Emmrich.
Like, even if he had been non-romance-able (T-T) he still would have found his way into our fanworks with the rest of them.
BUT THEY GAVE HIM TO US AND WROTE A ROMANCE FOR US AND SAID WE KNOW YOUāLL WANT HIM SO HERES A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA MUAH
Hawke likes to tell stories. They're nothing like Varric's, whose tales range in size and scope but always have structure. Hawke's stories don't have heroes or villains, and they rarely contain more than a grain of truth.
Hawke's stories are pointless. They're white lies about what he overheard a guard saying, or who he saw making cow eyes at one another. He tells Merril adventures about a cat he never had, and Anders hears tales of an ill-fated and awkward first love who never existed. Varric has heard more times than he can count about how Carver challenged a guard-captain to a duel when he was ten, or Bethany once impersonated a Chantry sister to escape detection.
Aveline gets quiet stories about the increasingly romantic and daring acts that Malcom Hawke committed to win Leandra's heart. Isabella gets ever-changing details about the voyage to Kirkwall, with Hawke claiming to have seduced the captain or the first mate or the chef depending on the telling.
Fenris hears often about Hawke's bumbling childhood and how very exasperated the guards were with his quick hands and poor impulse control.
And, in the middle of the night when the estate is still, Hawke tells himself that things will turn out all right. None of the stories are true, but sometimes they're enough.
Its Varric!! Im gonna do all the companions for DAV and Iām so excited for the game ahahahaha
Tried something a bit different with the style but idk if Iām gonna keep using it for the other portraits but weāll see ^_-

okay i made a second post as a continuation of this discussion here because i need more people to see this and weigh in lmaoooo. (found this on twitter yesterday. also shout out to the hof tease, this seems like a very interesting answer too, but we have to talk about sera.)
so when asked if thereās a reason for the distinction between how solas talks to sera versus other elves, weekes confirms something that many have noted when looking at solasā dialogueāhe uses the term āour peopleā to make quick connections with other elves. for example, solas uses this term with an elven inquisitorā¦ā¦. as he is breaking the news about the orb being an elven artifact. here solas is trying to be chummy and throw the scent off his own trail.
BUT weekes also makes a point to specify the second use of the term: to differentiate between ancient and modern elves. and trick never specified which is influencing solasā conversations with sera.
i DONāT THINK THEY WOULD HAVE BROUGHT BOTH OF THESE UP, WITHOUT SPECIFYING WHICH, UNLESS THEY COULDN'T FOR PLOT REASONS? ((am i reading too much into this? 𤔠))
(((anyway my brain is spinning with this new information. or at least. this not express denial of some of the theories floating around about sera.)))
When I first finished Veilguard I felt like it was too open with its lore. It threw everything down and laid out all its secrets (obvs not all but you get what I mean). Older games left a lot of room for speculation and mystery which I liked. It left you hungry to explore and see of the world of Thadas. Maybe if you dug a little deeper youād find more.
But given how everything has turned out with EA and BioWare I canāt help but think that the writers saw it all coming and wanted to give us all as much info as possible because the likelihood of another game was so slim.
Youtube: ZOMG, woKeguaRD has you TALKING about a NUHBinary! Bioware is TRAsh! CRIngE!
Everywhere else: I want that enby to crush my head between their immaculate thighs.
