Being let down by a show that I have put so much faith in and been a fan of since the beginning is such a big blow.
I don’t care about ships, who gives a crap about Klance as long as the characters actually get their own development. Allurance can become canon for all I care, but it’s the lazy writing and full out baiting that is the reason I’m so disappointed in what could have been an amazing and game changing show.
Adam’s death was cheap and lazy, and would have been fine if they hadn’t hyped up fans about Shiro’s sexuality at SDCC, one of the biggest events for shows to release information, and then all tweeted about it.
If they hadn’t either given the voice actors false information or made them tell (at this point they are) lies about relationships and character arcs that didn’t happen, and with one season left will most likely never happen.
I’m not angry, I’m not a crazy fan. I’m just disappointed in creators that I looked up to and respected.
Edit: no, I don’t believe it was queer baiting. Shiro is alive and still a confirmed gay man. Yes, Adam’s death was lazy and unneeded but its follows more of a bury your gays trope than anything else.
