hey. shoutout to the aros who DO enjoy valentine's day. shoutout to the ones who repurpose it for platonic, familial, or self love. shoutout to the ones that do not need comfort or pity this valentine's day but simply recognition.

shoutout to aromantics that send valentines to their friends. that treat themselves. that tell loved ones "happy valentine's day, i love you." that bask in the love and positivity the holiday brings. that participate in valentine's day events. that watch sappy romcoms for valentine's day. that use it as an excuse to draw ship art of their blorbos. that give their pets heart-shaped treats. that dress up in hearts and pink. that bake heart-shaped cookies. that shop for cute love-themed decorations. that look forward to chocolate sales tomorrow.

because valentine's day can be fun. you don't need a romantic valentine's date to enjoy it.

no actually im still not over this. im watching pam's stream where ethan does her makeup and he's in the makeup she did on him for a video and. oh my god. the makeup with the outfit is such a LOOK??? like it's just a full face of makeup with a baseball cap over the blue hair but im?? absolutely floored?? like hes so pretty?? and so cool?? at the same time!!! i wanna draw it but i know i won't be able to do it justice so im just gonna watch this hour-long video and just stare at him like... where's that one—

totally forgot how earlier today i set out to map a branch of iswm and i made a flowchart and went through stuff for about an hour until i got the I Believe You ending (well. "ending") and oh my god. i was so psyched to go through like half of the choices (up to Go Towards the Light) but that one took an emotional toll on me. they say the best art is the art that makes you feel something and goddamn iswm is a work of art.

i… i just need to get this out there, it’s not important or interesting but i gotta get it out

i’m very slow at recognizing people. maybe this is a common thing, idk, but it just takes me a while to be able to see a person and instinctively recognize them without like, a specific accessory or something.

so until the, idk, 50th time i’ve seen a person i need to figure out what’s easily spotted and unique about them. facial features are too subtle, i’m too short to use height as a metric, eye color would be really awkward, and clothes change. so unless they have something really unique about their appearance, i default to hair. it’s easy to see from all angles; it can be lots of different colors, lengths, and types; and it doesn’t change color length or type often.

now, this does have a few flaws. mostly family with similar haircuts or people with natural hair and standard haircuts. for example i worked at a summer camp, and for a few weeks i worked with little boys, i think like 4-6. some of them had distinct hairstyles but half of them had short, straight, blond hair and it took me far too long to remember who’s who.

in my everyday life this can be annoying but whatever, i figure it out.

but NOWADAYS ppl be obsessed with BRUNETTE, FLUFFY-HAIRED WHITE BOYS AND I CAN’T TELL WHO’S WHO! WHAT THE FUCK IS A TUBBO AND HOW IS HE ANY DIFFERENT FROM A FUNDY

yall WERE NOT KIDDING about the curse of having a popular post on tumblr... it's only been 4 days so it'll probably die down but im getting over a hundred notifications a day on my side blog.... i never understood why people called it a curse, like isn't being popular a good thing? but now. i get it.

tbf tho i did quite literally ask for this. but i have to update a taglist and there's so many notes im worried about missing someone gnfjxhxhfhfh

edit: IN THE TIME I TOOK TO WRITE THIS (which was admittedly a while cause im multitasking) I GOT TEN NOTES. TEN NOTES JUST WHILE WRITING A POST

sorry i just posted about this but it got me thinking. mutuals i am down on one knee proposing platonically to each and every one of you. i want you to know that. im taking you out on a platonic date to your favorite restaurant and taking you for a walk in the park afterwards and im nervous the whole time and you don't know why until the sun sets over our picnic of desserts in the most scenic area of the park and i take a box out of my pocket and i open it and it's one of those plastic rings from a cupcake. and i tear up as i give you a heartfelt speech about how much i love your blorbo posts and ask you to be my mutual till deactivation do us part.

okay i got a little carried away and a bit cringy I'll admit but i genuinely appreciate you all so much and i am proposing platonically.

my brain when i am tired and need to sleep: what if we write a fanfic. i know you've only ever written two, and i know you draw better than you write and you prefer it drawing too, and i know you have no ideas for a fanfic. but i think we should write fanfic and i think it is a Need
