20. what’s something you learned this year?

a LOT about my gender identity. if i wasn’t completely distanced from society i don’t think i would’ve realized for a while!! but now i truly know that gender is a scam ❤️

4) Did You Discover Any New Authors You Love This Year?

Yes! I absolutely loved Aiden Thomas’s debut (Cemetery Boys) and am so excited for their next book! I also plan on reading a lot of Alice Osman next year after marathoning Heartstopper this year

20) What Was Your Most Anticipated Release? Did it meet you expectations?

I was super hyped for The Invisible Life of Addie Larue (who wasn’t) and yeah I cried for thirty minutes after finishing so I would say it lived up to it! I’m also in the middle of A Sky Beyond the Storm the AEITA finale and loving it. Just going slow to savor it and cause it hurts my dude

i Love opportunities to talk about my friends 🥰 and i feel like i don’t talk about you enough, anniek! first time we talked i was. a ball of anxiety and i made a fool of myself, but i was so intimidated by you kjshjaks i thought you were this really cool editing legend on litblr and you ARE, but you’re also one of my favourite people for different reasons 🥺 you’re so smart and so strong!!! you shouldn’t have to be so strong, but life is a little bitch, isn’t it,, one day i’m 100% you’ll show everyone what you’re made of, because you’re made of stardust and you deserve all the best and i would fight anyone who stands between you and your so well deserved happiness! as hard as it might seem sometimes, please remember to take a deep breath and to do your best! but also, allow yourself to fail sometimes, that’s perfectly fine! i’m so happy to know you and to get to call you my friend! 😌 thank you for listening to me ramble and for being there for me when i needed it 💛

hi! i think you finished the empress of salt and fortune a while ago, right? what did you end up thinking of it? also, i believe you had an ARC of the sequel? if so, have you read that too? any thoughts?

hello anniek !! i did read the empress of salt and fortune, and i did get an arc of the sequel! i would recommend re-reading the empress of salt and fortune before reading when the dragon came down the mountain (or maybe that’s just me because i never remember things when sequels come out). i don’t usually read a lot of sci-fi/fantasy, but nghi vo is an incredibly compelling storyteller and writer! i think you’ll really enjoy it, especially if you loved the empress of salt and fortune!
